Aces game:
went about like I expected, plus or minus a couple of buckets. ISU had Tyreke Key in a clutch spot, if I remember right both at the end of regulation and in OT.

SIU/Valpo game.
I thought SIU looked really bad. Their shooting just was not good and they looked out of position on D repeatedly. Won't win many MVC games if your opponent shoots 57%.

Braves shoot 52% on 3’s while yielding 15% and manage to blow a 14-pt lead in the emptiest and darkest I’ve seen Carver for a non-bodybag/Creighton blizzard game. Getting ugly in Peoria...

Loyola sells out and Evansville opens the upper deck!

Nice bounceback week for the Bears. Valpo keeps rollin.

Clearly we missed Fazekas but this game proves that his absence won't crater our season. I'm very proud of this team and the way they defended but the rebounding was very poor (45-28 SIU) and we weren't great from distance (26.7%). Those numbers aren't a great recipe for winning games but we made the plays we needed to down the stretch to hold off a very spirited late charge from the Salukis. It really felt like they were going to steal this one. That said beating a talented team on the road without Fazekas is really encouraging and should give the team a lift going into another battle for first place. Should be a good one. I know I'll be watching.

Nick McGlynn put back a layup at the 5:40 mark of the 2nd half.

That was the last point scored in this 1-point game with 8 seconds left. Drake inbounding.

Drake loses to a horrible looking UNI team by going on a nine minute scoring drought and a six minute scoring drought.

Long scoring droughts suck. We feel your pain as we've been through our share of them this year and last.

The Drake - UNI game goes into the category of painful basketball games. The only points of the final 6:28 for UNI was the two free throws they got with 5 seconds to go. Drake went 7 minutes without points in the first half and then did not score in the final 5:40. Extremely painful.

Based off what we've seen thus far, I don't know how you can call anyone a favorite for Arch Madness 4 games in.

That game was UGLY but that's how UNI is going to have to play going forward. We're at 8 scholarship players for the next month and a freshman is our best offensive option. If he has a day where the ball isn't going in the bucket we're going to have to muck it up defensively.

I thought only being up 8 after the Drake dry spell in the first half was going to kill UNI but they played hard and never lost the lead.

Whoever lost that game was going to have a real uphill challenge to avoid Thursday. Just a big mess in the middle to try to work through.

I believe 12 wins will get a share of the league title and everybody else is going to be in that 10-8 to 8-10 range except Bradley.
