I agree The Redbirds have more talent. But I think we are tougher and we have the better coaching staff IMHO.

Agreed. There are more talented teams. Not sure there are better teams though.

Someone asked a while go, what MVC team do you trust? I'd pick MSU based on being in every game since our philosophy change. 5-1. Even Loyola has lost 2 since then

It is very rare to see a coach make a major adjustment like that in the middle of a season. Impressive move by Ford.

Barely watched any MSU before the last couple weeks. Any insight to what changed Bears fans?

They used to try to get up and down the floor and shoot a bunch of 3's. We didn't have the roster or the bench to pull that off or keep up that pace. He changed strategy when we played Loyola. The focus became defense and running the clock on offense to try and shorten the game.

The Bears look really good. I'm very bullish on their future going forward. Ford challenged them to defend better after the Valpo home game and they have responded wonderfully.

Also I feel just awful for Redbirds fans. To be shocked by a second buzzer beater like that. Wow they really have been unlucky (I know this has been mentioned before).

After Evansville. The #defendnomatterwhat started with Loyola.

I think he realized that if we were going to have a shot we needed to try and play to our strengths, which were not his strengths right now. He wants a run-n-gun style offense. Like the poster said above, we just don't have the bench or talent for it this year. Might next, definitely in 2 years.

Fun times are ahead in Springfield. Heck, we really aren't any better record wise this year but damn it, we don't win a game like that under Lusk in any circumstances!!!

We have already matched our conference win total from last year (when picked first) and this year we actually have a team GETTING BETTER as the season progresses. Imagine that.

Lucky to hit such a big shot but all good teams need lucky every now and then. When we won the title in 2011 we had a Weems buzzer beating three (nearly buzzer, anyway) at UNI and a last second win against SIU in St Louis on our resume.

In my humble opinion (big words from the greatest person ever...or at least my mom's favorite kid), this is the number one indicator of good coaching. I think MSU has a good one!
