They're at the bottom of the league in everything. The McCarty hire had red flags that were obviously ignored and then he made a rash hire without a search for a coach in his mid-60s that hasn't been relevent in two decades and failed miserably at his last stop in the name of keeping players which he hasn't done.

How does the AD have a job is what all of Southern Indiana is wondering. But UE MBB is fine with Lickliter. Probably the best hire for UE since Jim Crews.

Is hiring a 65 year old coach who hasn't done anything of note in well over a decade that runs an out of date offense than Ben Jacobson thinks is boring and slow while conducting literally zero searches really a the best hire?
The "best" argument I've heard in favor of him is that he knew the kids from being an assistant and would keep key pieces in place. That hasn't happened.
Todd was going to be around this spring/summer. Now, no one could have predicted COVID and the potential impact on coaching changes back in December or January, however, that doesn't change that Todd was still going to be now and you'd have had a shot at looking at younger guys with more potential upside and appeal to recruits.

AcesAces wrote:The type of hire that you are desiring, younger, more potential upside and appeal to recruits, fails more times that it succeeds. McCarty is Exhibit 1. There are many, many more failures than success. The Brad Stevens' are not out there in 1,000s.
