UND plays in what's basically a little bit newer Swinney Center.

Oh and they're FOREVER away from everybody else including UNI. If we've got to fly, I'd prefer to fly somewhere easy to get to where there's actually people.

There’s lots of reasons the Dakotas have never been mentioned as expansion possibilities. 1st, they are really far away, in tiny markets, and they tend to travel as a pack. There is no growth potential for adding dakotas. They just need to be off doing their Dakotas thing.

And I would add that the entire population of south and North Dakota is equal to Phoenix, so not even a major American city. You could pick up a market twice that sized by getting a school in a city—esp a major one.

It's true splitting up the conferences takes scholarship football schools out of major markets. That's why I proposed a 24-team super-conference. You get most every Midwest major population market or at least close to it. The Valley would have itself a self contained 10-team scholarship football conference with no satellite members and some of the best football in FCS. In basketball they could split into 2 divisions and play each team from their division once (11 games), play 7 games against the other division on a rotating bases (7 games), and finally play the final two games (20 games total) against your like pairings for that season. 1 plays 2. 3 plays 4, and so on. It's heading in that direction anyway. Lets get all the markets now and not sit on our hands like in the mid 00's.

Anything short of 96 teams is a mistake, IMO.

Seriously, NO ONE wants the Dakotas. It's weird that the only people that want them are the ones that have never been in an all sports league with NDSU. It's like being in a league with Texas except they have nothing to actually hang their giant hats on other than a 3 hour window in January on ESPN2 where everyone forgets it happened 15 minutes later.

does it really matter if the 4 Dakota teams make up 4 of the 24? You're just picking now. I mean, if you want UMKC and Green Bay we can switch them out but then we cant field the best FCS football conference and the teams we replace them with suck even harder. SEMO. Central Arkansas. Call up Augustana to D1. These are our replacements for the Dakotas. Ill take the Dakotas over any realistic choice
