Correct. Haven't had the band at a single game this year. Instead, he has a guy who calls himself DJ McNaughty spinning hip-hop to a crowd with an average age over 60.

What's even sadder is UE has a pretty well respected music department, and is now struggling to get students to show up at games. It doesn't take an Einstein to figure out a nice start may be bringing 20 or so students you have on music scholarships down to the Ford Center.

Congrats to Loyola on their victory in Springfield today. Loyola was clearly the better team. I still think my Bears have the best overall talent in the MVC but we just don't always play to potential.

And Williamson is an amazing player and got the better of Mosely today.

Pretty sure the Ramblers did not shoot a free throw until the second half. Make of that what you will.

It was a poorly officiated game on both sides IMO.

Gerry decided it was ref show time again today. Some nights he's fantastic, some nights he thinks everybody's there to see him. Don't get it.

It's the same thing other teams go through when playing games at the Gentile Center.

Great game - honestly I feel that MSU's had the best individual talent in the MVC year in and year out since 17-18. Just haven't been able to put it all together.

Also regarding ref talk - this year it just seems like the refs have been worse than usual across the league. The ISU/Drake game, and yesterdays Drake/UNI game stand out immediately.

The AD needs to go with him. That entire department is finishing last in everything. Tear it down and start over.

They'll get candidates because it's a Valley job but it's going to take a Herculean effort to get even to respectable.

Not really. McCarty got it done in less than a year. He put together a team that beat UK and Murray State very quickly. They would have probably competed in the top half of the MVC that year. Of course, he had other issues that has brought the program down further than it was when he took over.

Evansville is a great place for college basketball. UE has outstanding facilities and the Ford Center is an incredible venue. The fans are some of the best.

Yes, it will take lots of work but the right leadership and staff will get it back to competing in the MVC within a year or 2.

McCarty was also left a program in a lot better shape than the one that the next guy is getting. Marty was far from perfect but he left the program better than he found it.

That is true.

There are a few head scratchers with Licklitter. He's been here for 2 1/2 years. I don't know why he didn't try to bring in players who could make our weaknesses less weak. He didn't tap the portal for a "certified bucket getter" or for a big man or for rebounding. And what the H did he see in the players he is playing this year? Our 5th year seniors are not MVC level starters. Our 4th year seniors are good but they are not going to be "the guy" more often than not.

Things wouldn't be so desperate if Licklitter would have made some moves in the right direction. Instead he gave us a team with the same weaknesses as last year's team and is shooting 10% lower on 3s. We went backwards.

Question for the math people here: what is better for an at large bid, Loyola going 2-0 against MoState and those being q2 wins, or what really happened, where they split which pushed the road win to Q1?

I would think the best thing that could've happened, happened. Both teams get a Q1 win. The problem is that Mo State's NET is still in the mid 60's which isn't good enough. If they were in the 40's or better, this result probably would've been perfect for the conference. The At-Large formula remains the same at this point. Loyola wins during the season and loses at the Arch.
