Ill take a crack at top 4....

1- Bradley
2- Drake
3 - SIU
4 - Indiana State

I like Indiana States schedule, hate UNIs, Missouri State shorthanded without Trimble, Murray win @ ISU Saturday would make me rethink about putting Murray or Belmont into the top 4.

Indiana State hit the schedule lottery only getting Bradley and Belmont once.

SIU, Belmont, Murray, Bradley and Indiana State each still have 3 games against the bottom 4 left. That gives them a leg up as well. Bradley and Drake have a pretty much insurmountable lead in the NET as well for if/when we end up in a giant jumbled mess of a tie.

I'm pretty confident that Bradley and Drake end up in the top 4 but not at all willing to make any commitments beyond that.

Bradley only has 2 games left against the bottom 4 and they aren't gimmes by any stretch, @ISUr and @Valpo.

Still not sure what to think of the unbalanced schedule. On the one hand, it is nice that we own the tiebreaker against Indiana St, but not getting Evansville again is an easy win that we won't get and makes the road to a championship a little bit tougher. If we were a multi-bid league, I would like it a whole lot more.

Don't forget Net Ranking is not the first thing used for Tie breakers when there are 3 or more teams. It goes to round robin first.

With the unbalanced schedule, seems like the record of the teams you played should be the #1 tie-breaker.

I played out the schedule on what I think would happen. I'm Saluki biased:

15-5 SIU
14-6 Bradley
13-7 Drake, Belmont, Murray State, and Northern Iowa

SIU has three tough matchups out of seven, but two of them are at home. I do think they have the easiest road down the stretch. I have no idea how a 4-way would be broken between those teams, but they would make for some amazing Friday games in St. Louis.

7-12 would be:
Missouri State
Indiana State
Illinois State
Valpo
UIC
Evansville

I will say that being the 5 or 6 seed isn't necessarily a disadvantage. You get an easy on on Thursday and get to shake the 'big building' jitters.

Also, that 3 seed is going to be waiting a looooooooong time to actually get on the floor, especially with everybody having to be in town Tuesday instead of Wednesday for the Awards Dinner...

If the goal is to win the tournament, securing a top 4 spot is a giant advantage from a fatigue standpoint alone. We saw how gassed Valpo was a few years ago in the 2nd half of the Championship game after they were the Thursday team.

Oddly enough, I could see where being a 5-8 seed could be an advantage for Friday because of the jitters issue. But deep in the tournament, I’d say whoever got the 1-4 seeds and survived the Friday game would have a big advantage over a team that had to play Thursday. That fourth game would be rough…

yes live in rural Iowa. And am old, don't post much until I'm pissed off at idiots. Have confronted Jake in his face about pt guards. He has a different opinion than mine and that's ok, but I don't agree. Moving on, Jake outcoached DeVries last night, but Born blew it by trying too much hero ball in the OT's. I wouldn't be on a team with a selfish head down dribbler like Born, why work hard to get position when Born can't see you? Yes he's great at making outlandish shots and he's quick. He's not even close to Roman Penn level.

Imagine being proud that you confronted a coach about anything relating to his team. LMFAO what a clown.

That’s what the Round Robin is pretty much. The only thing the unbalanced schedule does is give you the tie breaker of the team you beat that you played once.
