This is speculation, but I really think that Coach McDermott and Coach Jacobson had an agreement about Doug. They didn't want Doug to go thru the hell of watching his father get fired from ISU this year and that is why he signed with UNI. I also think that it was understood if Greg was coaching elsewhere, his son would most likley follow. I really think if McDermott was fired from ISU, you may have seen him in some capacity on the UNI staff next season. None of this happened of course because McDermott went to Creighton.

I don't have any ill will against Coach McDermott for taking the ISU job. I hope no one would hate me if I took a job that paid me 3 times my current salary.

I do despise the fact that he came back to the valley. I could have accepted him going to a MWC or Horizon league school even if he took his son along. Now he is an opponent and will not be recieved well, no different they any other coach or team when they enter my teams building.

Also, allowing players to transfer within conference is not good and this will come back to haunt this league in the future. Some player will want to jump ship after a coach is fired and they will bring up this instance as precedence.

It's a shame this game is the Battle for Fourth Place.

Should be a good one to watch though.

UNI has been a pretty good 2nd half team this year, Creighton seems to do better in the first half. How big of a lead do the Jays need to build up to hold the win?

Actually, UNI has been outscored in the second halves of games all year. We've held a half-time lead in all but 3 games. I do think if we keep it close in the second half we will pull out the win-better guard play will make better decisions in crunch time. However, I don't think it will come to that as I think the UNI guards will force Creighton into too many miscues and UNI pulls away over the course of the game. Only thing that keeps it close is if Creighton can grab a bunch of offensive rebounds.

Funny.....another WSU fan just has to chime in on a Creighton thread with a dig. Give it up guys...we all know your obsession with Creighton.

See you in St. Louie......

No way UNI runs away with this. It will be another game like MSU. Although it will probably go back and forth with lead changes and be very close at the end. I'm not going to predict a Creighton win at the end because we all know how Creighton finishes games but sooner or later we will start winning these games.

Maybe we are just sandbagging it till St. Louis.

I put my money on CU being up doulbe digits at some point during the game. probably up at half, and holding UNI to less than 30 points in the first half. UNI will then score 40+ points in the second half to pull away for the win (or hit a shot with less than 20 seconds left for the win after CU goes on another stretch of scoring 2 baskets in the last 6 minutes ofthe game). One thing you can count on with CU this year - no matter who we play it will be entertaining.

I would be surprised if this game hits the 70s considering the coaches.

That's UNI's MO this year...you can't do that, we do.
