Big 12 implosion again? A&M and Oklahoma looking at the SEC

The Pac10(or 12) has a rule against individual schools having television networks, so Texas is out of the equation unless either side caves in.

I don't think that is entirely correct. Two points:

(1) I heard today that Stanford was starting up their own network; and
(2) The Pac12 is going to have regional networks. The Longhorn Network could easily be the "regional network" for Texas and whomever would come with them.

By the way, the article that you linked doesn't indicate at all that OU is looking to join the Pac12. It just indicates that Stoops likes the idea.

If Stoops likes the idea, OU likes the idea. All the requirements to make the deal work are laid out in the interview. that shows some thought has been given to it.

There's nothig "officil" in the article that says OU is courting the Pac10 (or12), but that's a pretty heavy leak for things that are usually kept completely under wraps until there's virtually a done deal on the table.

I guess the butt cheeks in Ames and Manhatten are cinched up a little tight right about now. While Oklahoma, Kansas and a few others can find homes, Iowa State and Kansas State may be on the fast track to the exciting world of mid-majordum.

They probably had that option when they decided to go with the WCC. I don't see them changing to the MVC at this point.
