Personally I don't have that much of a problem with what was said on Shockernet. What is said there is their business. I was just surprised by how many Shocker fans over there put the loss on the officiating.

I do have a problem with Marshall's comments. He's suggesting some type of conspiracy against WSU. How ridiculous is that? Good coach, good recruiter, but yes he does have issues.

This might be true this year, but it wasn't very long ago when WSU was a back to back Thursday team. Thursday teams in the MVC usually don't have very much leverage.

It's been 16 years since the last time WSU played back to back on Thursday.

If only that were true. Gregg's 1st season we lost to Indiana State in the opening round, and again the next year when we beat Missouri State before getting screwed against Creighton.

During the CU game I yelled the foul count to the ref twice. The second time he glared at me. Other Aces' fans were whining about foul call. I finally said loudly: "you guys do know that the Jays are beating us, not the refs? Fans will whine. Coaches should complain in private.

I love Shockernet, they have some passionate fans. Am sitting in the lobby of the Crown Plaza watching the Shocker bus fill with students. At least they get to go to the NCAAs.
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

+1 on both accounts.

I never get upset about what people say on their own boards. You are generally getting a lot of homer talk and excuse mongering, etc. Accept them for what they are, read them for your personal amusement and move on. What is really funny is that after the game, Shocker fans were on Twitter cussing out Creighton (pssst...you lost to IlSU, not CU. We had nothing to do with you blowing a double digit lead).

Marshall's comments were way, way out of line. Not only did he not complement IlSU for their unwillingness to give up or for Jankovich putting together a great game plan, but he went all conspiracy theory. Unfortunately, it isn't the first time he's done this after losing in the tourney.

Pushing his way into the post game interview, overturning placards with the names of IlSU's player and coaches exhibits a complete lack of class.

The idea of WSU leaving the conference because it lost a game is just silly. WSU just won the regular season by a two game margin and still has a game or games left to play. On the other hand, Marshall picking up his ball and leaving the conference because he can't handle losing may actually happen and we may have seen him in his last game against a Valley foe.

Funny but from where I sat I had a beef with the officiating today as well but my team wore white and red. As someone told one of my fellow Redbird posters here a couple weeks ago after the Indiana State game, quit complaining about the officiating and take your loss like a man.

So some of you who don't have an axe to grind, do you think WSU lost the game or did the refs make them lose?

2. Jankovich was suppose to be the first to speak to the media after the game but from what was reported on our radio station Marshall bulled himself into the room in front of Jank and took the podium first. Yes as reported, he said something to the effect that The Valley got what it wanted with 3 teams in the tournament. (I wonder how The Valley will react to that) I also wonder how his theory will hold up if Creighton wins everything, which is likely now, as there will only be 2 Valley teams dancing and his will be one of the two.

3. Yes, one of the WSU posters said it was time for them to get out of this league NOW!!! All I can say is fine by me. Don't let the door hit you on the butt on the way out.

4. Prior to today's game, my favorite teams in order was ISUr, whoever is playing bradly College, and then WSU. I watched every game they played in the NIT last year and pulled for them just like I would have if it had been my beloved Birds. With the aftermath of this game, I may have to reconsider this. They are no longer the esteemed WSU Shockers but the WSU Whiners.

This is be the best post I have ever seen on this forum.

It's hard to pull for the Redbirds when you have some of their fans making generalizations against the WSU fanbase after a highly-contested loss in the Valley Tournament. Again, the broad strokes of the paint brush.

My bad. We tied for fifth that year...did not check close enough.
