Are you two getting soft???? Or didn't you see this. This guy just makes it too easy!

Its a lost cause. UNI fans react way too emotionally to their money problems. It is kind of funny that other schools on the have-not side of the ledger (Drake, Indiana St, Evansville) never dispute their relative positions, yet UNI fans seem to take great umbrage if anyone mentions the situation. Considering they only get 4400 at home games, it seems like as a fanbase, they are more passionate about financial discussions then they are about their athletic teams.

UNI fans act emotionally not to to the perceived problems, but to YOU, who continues to spread lies and incorrect information in your effort to endlessly trash UNI as much as possible.

A "have-not"??? Please, tell me who actually IS a "have" if UNI is not. God lord... :Bam:

I think Kyle too DJA's post to mean that UNI would need to increase ticket revenue by $500K each year. I think he just meant maintain a $500K increase over previous levels, right? And increased donations obviously help offset that as well.

If UNI falls on the "have" side, our conference is in worse financial shape than I previously feared.

How is UNI a "have"? You dropped baseball because you couldn't afford it. I'm not delusional to insist that we're one either. Realistically, there's probably 2 "haves" in this league.

Red,

Of all the teams in the conference, I'd admit that I probably know the least about ISU's position. Where are you guys? I don't see a lot of investment on the hoops side, but I get the impression that you guys are more interested in football anyway. I see you guys as the most likely to make the jump up for football, but I have no idea how close you guys are to being ready to make that jump. Is that something ISU can afford to do soon or are we realistically looking several years down the road?

And? UNI is certainly not the first, or last, school in this conference to drop an athletic program. Many have dropped football, baseball, track programs, ect. Along with operating a very successful and expensive football program that others do not have, some people forget that UNI has a very successful wrestling program as well. (I don't think any other MVC school has wrestling)

Times have been tough the last few years because of some pretty drastic and abrupt changes in the way that our school and departments are funded due to outside factors from the state of Iowa. Despite that, UNI has continued to be successful in almost every aspect of our athletics programs. We have funded our programs well, built facilities, paid our coaches well, and most importantly we have won. We have been, and still are in the process of changing things to assure that we can continue to be successful in the present while setting up stability for the future, and UNI has done a very good job in doing so.

I just get tired of the constant and unwarranted pretension by so many on this board, to go along with the endless disrespect toward those who have not earned it.

It's probably already been posted but what are the athletic budgets for our conference members? I'm not as proficient with the whole searching the web thing as some of you are. Thank you

He specifically said UNI will need to increase season ticket revenue $500K every year in order to make up for a one time $500K/year funding cut.
