MVC going to 12 with UIC and UTA?

It will blow up when the MVC becomes a perennial one bid league and/or several years of the NCAA rep being a one and done.

The current set up works well for the MVC publics currently because they get to play in the best FCS league and play in usually a top 10 basketball league. Add a couple sub 250 boat anchors and that top 10 league drops in value.

I think eventually most of the MVFC will become an all sports league or you'll see 2-3 MVC football publics leave. That's my prediction. I'm not saying it's going to happen within the next 5 years, but I think one of those two things will eventually take place.

Where does anybody go that is a better situation than we're in right now?

The leagues you can put together with half of our league aren't even in the same stratosphere as the Valley is now. Leaving a fairly regular 2 bid league that gets seeded 8-12 for a certain 1 bid league that gets seeded 13-15 is absolute insanity.

No one has an answer to this because there isn't one. Adding UIC and UTA is not going to doom the MVC. It's stupid to even think that.

Loyola- private school, history of success, in control of their own school

UIC, UMKC, Omaha, UTA- public, no history of success, control of school rests with separate board/system

I only made it about halfway but I see a handful of bitter Shocker posters complaining about the MVC (par for the course) and hating the decision. Most of the other posters seemed to accept it was the move that made the most sense.

I’m reading the same thing. The vast majority of whining was from Shocker posters in that thread. If you remove the Wichita posts entirely, there were some rude comments but the majority accepted it.
