I respect that opinion, and people who actually back it up with facts make me respect their opinion even more...but it's wrong.

You can't look at the beginning of the season for the Syc's for anything. In order to see what kind of team they are, you really have to look at the conference body of work ONLY, because the team completely changed going into the conference season with Odum getting the keys to the car. He is not the second coming of anyone, but the team dynamic/style definitely changed. Add to that the fact that we have a first year coach who changed the offensive scheme and turned up the intensity on the defensive side, and you can start to understand why it took a while to get the house in order.

The Syc's average margin of victory in their conference games was 9.
They created the most turnovers/game in the conference.
They held teams to the worst shooting percentage in the conference.

They were in the top half of the conference in scoring margin.
They were in the top three in rebounding in the conference.
They beat every team in the conference at least one time. (UE and WSU in the conference tournament)

I understand being upset. I understand feeling slighted. I get it, really. But what does putting down the third place team in the conference that beat you twice do? Nothing, except give other people more firepower to say, "LOOK HOW WEAK THE VALLEY IS!"

And on the ISUb side, WTF? We're in THE tournament. Our TEAM played its best at the right time. That's awesome. Let the guys actions stand for themselves...stop getting so riled up every time someone says something negative. If you have a beef...come back with some facts to back it up. All the constant :bs: does is serve to get a thread locked.

With that said...GO SYCS...and congrats to the Valley teams on the 5-0 start to the postseason! :bounce:

I honestly feel that ISU caught all three of their opponents during the MVC tourney on bad nights. It seemed to me that luck won the game against my Aces because I thought both teams played terribly. MSU and WSU both seemed to be off with their shooting (and I didn't think it was because of the Sycamore's defense)....in fact, I think the shooting of all the teams, all during the tourney, was off...maybe it's the depth perception in the arena, but it was not great defense by the opponent, in my opinion.

That being said, I hope the Sycamores defeat Syracuse for two reasons - they represent the MVC and I am sick of the Big East hype! Sometimes it seems like there is no other conference even playing out here.....love to see the spoiled, spotlight boys lose to guys who have got little attention during the year!

Go, Trees....and Go, MVC teams in whatever tourney you are competing!

I'd still take Cuse with that line.

Ok, if this thought or idea were true then as people thought ISU caught every opponent they beat all season on Bad nights...It's a constant. After the 3 OT game in wichita "ISU only stayed in the game because we had a bad night." after the MSU win "ISU only won because we had a bad night" I am not trying to rub it or anything I am just pointing out that we seem to be constantly hearing that our opponents 'had a bad night'

WSU tried really hard to give away the overtime game. We didn't deserve to win that one.

Look, the Trees are a decent to good team. That's why they were the third best team in the Valley this year and should probably be up there somewhere next season.

I hope you guys play above yourselves or the Cuse play down and you pull out a victory. I just don't see it happening. You'll need Carter and Printy dropping bombs on that zone to have a chance in my opinion.

Question...Did ISU play play above themselves to beat you? How would your comments change if you were playing the orangemen. The valley is showing why their conference deserves to be respected. implying that your tournament conference champs isn't quite as good as the elite only implies that your team isn't good enough either. I have heard multiple interviews from a number of valley coaches and they all have great things to say about each other's team. If you dont respect your conference, don't expect those outside of your conference to respect you. I am extremely happy with all of the post season success the valley has had. Good Luck to all for some deep runs....

Wichita State hadn't been good 90% of the year. We were awful. The Nebraska game is either an anomaly or hopefully the start of something new. I have no idea how good Indiana State really is. I would guess their seeding is about equal to their quality.

I dont think anyone is bagging on ISU. I dont think anyone would be betting on any of the top 3 teams in the valley to win this game.
