Congrats to the Aces. Beating the Bears in Springfield is a very tough task.

How did Drake win in Evansville?

Three things

1. From UE fans who I trust.....UE did not come out ready to play against the Bulldogs.

2. DU shot lights out (> 60% for the game).

3. DU finally getting productive minutes from bench players (Woods, Hawley and Alexander).

Congrats Aces!! You're fully in "MVC Big Dance spoiler mode" again this year.

Three words, Mark, Edward, Phelps.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!

Drake is a little better then given credit for, especially when their shots are falling. Drake has post presence and athletic guards. The Aces did not shoot the ball well and did not seem aggressive. With Ryan in trouble, we could not get in the groove. The Aces did not lose. Drake beat us.

I disagree. I believe there is more parity in the MVC on any given night. The Aces took the Shockers to the wire and there is no way in hell that we should do that. The Shockers then barely beat Illinois State on their own turf. We have more parity then some of us want to admit.

I still believe that CU, WSU, and MSU have the balance teams and depth needed for the NCAAs. The rest of us have too many warts. That said, if CU, WSU, or MSU do not play well, any team will beat you in this league.

Well thanks for those comments. In my original comment I wasn't meaning to slam the Aces in any way. You have some fine players. I'm just extremely disappointed in this loss.

We still get no respect. From the BearNation message board:

=========================================================================================
"Totally disagree. It's on the team when the correct plays are run and the shots just don't fall. It was obvious there was no plan at the end of the game and quite possibly the worst team in the league, a team that lost to TENNESSEE TECH (AT HOME), beat us. That's on the coach.

Let me add, Evansville was HORRIBLE. They weren't shooting lights out, they weren't playing that great defensively, yet we found a way to lose. At home.

Evansville is bad. We outplayed them the entire game.
I don't understand our offense at all. We rely on Weems to knock down a three, Gulley, Pick or AD to create a shot off the dribble or Patterson to put one up either from 3 or down low. However, it has worked often, but it is hard to do much when our best scorer is being held the entire game, yet he fouls out.
I sound like a mad 3rd grader blaming refs, but we can only do what we can do on the court, they have the ability to change the game. And they did.

No offense taken at all. The Aces have too many warts and weakenesses to be taken seriously by the Valley contenders.

Good luck, I think Terra Heute is somewhere in Afganistan.
