If these types of things happened to CU's golden boy CU's fan base would be completely up in arms as well.

Glad you're not taking sides...

Pretty safe bet you wouldn't be hearing any death threats from us.

Here is an exert from Wragge's twitter feed. It doesn't include the tweet I mentioned.

Not one school from the Valley would do this to another school's players no matter how important the game or the circumstance.

http://dailybigten.com/2012/03/18/deranged-fans-carolina-loses-it/

Here are some additional tweets.

@thebestkrone Dont worry UNC fans, i live in Omaha and know where to find Ethan Wragge....I'll kill him
@ScottyRaby: Is it wrong that I would like to stab grant gibbs in the damn face
@ScottyRaby as someone tweeted before, if i had two bullets and with gibbs and kony.. i would shoot gibbs.. TWICE

Again, its one thing to call a player dirty, its another to take it to the level UNC fans did.

this is hilarious.

GE shoves the wimpier of the 2 zeller's not in the neck or head but in the chest to try and keep a 7 footer off the offensive glass, zeller gets caught off balance and them decides to flop for style points. it should have been a flagrant foul, they missed the call, nobody got decapitated. GE can't help that he could probably bench 400 pounds and thought zeller would withstand the shove and actually offer resistance instead of hit the deck like a 270 pound sand bag.

wragge puts his arm up, it wasn't even a hard foul, it was a fluke that the guy got hurt.

cu goes from being called "soft" in MVC circles to the Bob Huggins led Cincy thugs from 15 years ago overnight.

 UNC fans, give. me. a. break.

The GE play was pretty dirty, but I buy Gibbs' argument that he was winking for getting under the skin of the UNC player, not because he had slapped at his injured wrist intentionally.

Did anyone watch the Kansas vs Purdue game or the Cincinnatti vs FSU game? The UNC faithful would have a meltdown if a UNC game was ever allowed to get that physical. Greg never extended his arms out. It was a complete flop by Zeller.

Death threats are completely uncalled for...and should be turned into the police to be handled properly.

However, if McDermott was coming down the lane like that and Austin Pehl (or any player for that matter) hit him the way GE hit Zeller, CU fans would be so far gone on complaining about it MVCFans, bluejayunderground (or whatever you're using these days), twitter, and likely PN would be overloaded with people complaining about it.

Are UNC fans on the whiny little girl side of the spectrum as a fan base? You bet they are....

Is it fair to say that no CU fan would make a threat against anyone who did that to one of CU's players? Nope...every fan base has a couple whack jobs that think Twitter/Facebook/forums/social media in general has no repercussions and they can say and do what they want due to the mostly anonymity behind it. I hate to admit it, but I'm sure there is some whack-a-nut UNI fan that would say something similar...as would some whack-a-nut Eville, DU, WSU (man fighting urge to beat wife), etc... fan.

I in no way condone any of the threats, and agree Zeller "over-racted" to the hit. However, the way GE threw his arms into Zellers chest like that warranted a flagrant 1 at the very least.

I honestly thought Creighton's biggest mistake was not leaving Doug on the perimeter and pounding the ball inside to Greg. He was way too strong for any of the UNC big men.

I'm very happy we do not have fan bases that take things as far as some of these UNC fans have. We can say what we want about our opposing fans in this conference (Jays and Shox fans have gotten an earful lately for inane subjects) but I do not believe (nor do I hope) I will see some of the more over-zealous Creighton or Shocker fans or any others take things as far as threatening someone's life whether it is a joke or not. Simply disgusting to see some of those things in the DailyB1G article and I know there are far worse out there

I watched the replay a couple of times and I think that
Zeller flopped. Mainly because he saw the ref moving behind GE
He bounced up and went on defense. Just My thoughts on it
NOt under any reason warrants death threats

Is someone saying they wouldn't complain? The issue is the degree in which the UNC fans have taken this. When Dotzler was tripped and broke his wrist against SIU a few years back I'm sure people complained, but never did anyone threaten to harm Brian Muulins. Sure we were pissed, but were freaking sane about it.
