I agree. If Loyola played everybody four vs. five, we would certainly be a Thursday night team.

Unfortunately Bradley is just 1 game out of the play-in game right now. If Darryl Brown remains out for an extended amount of time, Bradley could sink to the play-in game easily.

On the other hand, if Bradley can get healthy (Brown and Childs back), look out.

Agreed, that game was exceptionally physical. At times I thought the refs were exceptionally bad... but exceptionally bad both ways. Disappointed by the result but it was a really fun game. Both teams were throwing haymakers.

I was real excited when that crew walked on the floor, that's a regional weekend/borderline Final Four crew and they disappointed. I'm all for letting teams play but you have to step in and draw a line somewhere, they didn't do it and that led to a real inconsistent second half.

I'm guessing Krutwig and Phyfe are pretty sore today, they really hammered on each other.

Can't wait for the return game in a few weeks!

I agree, without him they would be in trouble... Did not sound long term though, right?

Nice to see the Loyola board go full racism on AJ Green and his dad. I was taking a look at their forum and they claim it was warranted because UNI called Krutwig fat. I went and looked at UNI's forum and found this scathing post on him

The key for me is making Krutwig guard away from the basket. He tends to reach and doesn't always do a good job of moving his feet in space. Phyfe is certainly capable of consistently turning the corner on him.

And you're correct on Krutwig. He doesn't like to play defense. He's out of shape and gets winded. The key on that one is how we defend Krutwig. If we limit his passes we stand a good chance. If he gets all the garbage we're in for a long afternoon.

That's it. That's the entirty of discussion on Krutwig. One post saying Phyfe has a speed advantage if he gets him to defend the high post, which after yesterday certainly doesn't seem to be wrong.

A follow up post agreeing Phyfe banging around with him down low and drawing him out could wear him out and that Krutwig doesn't like playing defense outside of the post. Again, that doesn't seem to be wrong.

Krutwig, whatever he is listed at, is listed lighter than he is. He's a big dude that doesn't "look" like he's in basketball shape. Looks aren't always accurate but you look at him and he "looks" like he is mid 30s and getting ready to dominate the local Y league. He's a great post player. He's had, and will continue to have a great career. It's not hard to understand that outside perception of him is that based on looks.

The things I saw a Loyola poster posting about AJ, and his father, were extremely poor taste at best. I'm all for smack talk but what was said in "retaliation" for something as simple as what UNI posters said was just crazy.

Told me quite a bit about the posters on that forum.

Certainly seems like race driven "smack talk" and it's not just one passing comment like it was with Krutwig

All because there was one post that said Krutwig seems to tire quickly and would struggle to guard Phyfe at the elbow extended.

He's day to day. Injury supposedly happened at Missouri State on Jan 15th, bruised Thigh. He played Jan 18th against UNI, but then has missed last 2 games due to that injury. Prognosis I read is that it just needs time to heal.

I hope he's back Wednesday against Valpo as the difference between 3rd place and 8th place in this conference is not that big right now.
