I don't have any inside information, but only one of them so far was a starter. All of the others were bench players who were never going to be more than bench players. Bellinger was with us for 4 years and was always a step slow on defense which probably kept him on the bench. Shanks was also with us for 4 years and was a hustler, but usually out of control and caused too many fouls to break the starting line up. Jakubicek looked promising in his freshman year, but he never quite developed into what we need at the post position. He was with us for for 3 years. Shanks and Jakubicek were front line players who saw that Coach Alexander signed 3 freshmen that were 6-8 or better.
The real hurt is losing Even Braun. I'm not sure why he is leaving because he was the starter and was playing all the minutes he could.
