There's a decent chance Drake sneaks into the top 50 and becomes a quad 1 win on a neutral court. Bradley is a longer shot at 62, but it's possible. For that to happen, Drake and Bradley are likely sitting at 2 and 3 in seeding, so Indiana State likely only gets a shot at one of them at Arch Madness.

If Indiana State beats Drake in St Louis an at-large bid is not required. If they lose to Drake in St Louis than they will not get a Quad 1 win.

Because Indiana State decided to take 38 3-pointers and only made 8 of them. Imagine if they took half as many and instead tried for 2-pointers. Also not fouling us 21 times.

If we can rewrite history (for the good of the league), would you be willing to change this result to an L if we would give you our rematch at Carver??

They wont drop if they blow those teams out.[/quote]

Trees lack of depth makes it difficult to blow teams out late in the season.

Only speaking for myself, but I would change our loss to Bradley to a win if it meant we lost against Indiana State. I doesn't work like that however.

I thought all along the Trees don't go deep enough to keep up all there winning ways as we go deep into Valley play

Agree. They aren't alone in this either. Both Drake and Bradley have pretty short benches, Drake's being a little deeper. Injury and/or in-game foul trouble can put a team in a bind pretty quickly.

This is where failing to replace solid contributors/fringe starters who transfer out really hurts. Sometimes it's the first three guys off your bench who will make or break your season.

I mean they just blew Valpo out. Will they blow any other teams out the rest of the way? That remains to be seen but I wouldn't rule it out completely.

I would argue that there are only a few Valley teams in the last 15 or so years that would go better than 17-3 over a 20-game schedule. I mean, the Loyola final four team was only 15-3 in conference play. Lots of basketball left, but what the Sycamores have done is very impressive. The grueling 20 game schedule is a far bigger factor than any perceived depth issues in my opinion.

2012 Wichita
2014 Wichita
2015 Wichita
2015 UNI
2018 Illinois State
2018 Wichita
2021 Loyola (Big COVID asterisk)

That's probably the entire list from the last 15 years and Wichita was outspending everybody nearly 3 to 1.
