my main point is that ISU is comparable stylistically wise to those teams...and that's really not even an argument lol...just saying when watching dont expect a team that is going to light it up for 80 a game...

1) Indiana State - best PG in the league makes teammates better
2) WSU - Lose the bigs, but guards are back
3) Creighton - could be better but need better play at guards and better passing by PG
4) Evansville - why not? Colt Ryan can shoot it and they have a good coach
5) Northern Iowa - new guard focused offense could be interesting
6) MSU - Weems
7) Drake - should be Phelps' key year - produce or dissappear
8) Illinois State
9) Bradley
10) Southern Illinois

Kinda tough right now since we don't know who will be coaching Bradley and SIU. Also don't know whether Maniscalco and Brown will be back for Bradley or if Teague and Bocot will be back for SIU.

May I say how much of a change it is to see people that are non-tree fans put us so high? It is weird...

I think UNI will be better than most here predict. Preseason favorite? Nope. Regular season champ? Probably not. However, the thing to remember is that while UNI struggled badly without Luke there was only 1 game UNI didn't have a chance to win. With the red-shirts we will have available next year and looks like 2 or 3 Valley ready true freshman UNI should be a top 3 team.

If we arent in the top 3 next season I will be disapointed lol...I think UNI is a top 4 team...with the players they return they will get back to playing UNI Ball...unselfish basketball where there are no superstars.

Kwadzo will be missed, but not as much as people want to believe.

He scored a ton because that was the way the offense was set up - especially after Luke went down - but he really wasn't playing point late in the season. Johnny and Anthony were.

Next season I think UNI's rotation will be something like this

PG: Deon Mitchell (Fr from Texas)
SG: Anthony James (Soph)
WG: Johnny Moran (Sr)
WF/PF: Jake Koch (Jr)
C: um...not sure yet. Could be Rank (SO), Piehl (JR), Buss (RFr), Seth Tuttle (true FR)

I could see Johnny going to the point and putting Marc Sonnen at the wing though.

There is a shot that we could start 2 freshman with Deon Mitchell and go smaller like this

1. Deon Mitchell
2. Anthony James
3. Johnny Moran
4. Marvin Singleton (6'5 freshman from MN. Apparently he is about 240 and built like he is a JR or SR)
5. Jake Koch

Sycamore additions next year:6' 9" redshirt freshman Jake Kitchell, 6' 8" freshman Justin Gant, 6' 6" freshman Khristian Smith(Indy Pike/Maine Central), 6' 3" freshman DeVonte Brown.

Redshirt Kitchell was an Indiana All-Star his Sr. year. Speculation is that J. Gant will be an Indiana All-Star on this years team.

Jake Odum was an Indiana All-Star his Sr. year.

This year Jank played a ton of different combinations, but if I had to guess next year starters will be.

Nic Moore (Fr)
Justin Clark (Jr)
Jon Ekey (So.)
John Wilkins (Jr.)
Jackie Carmichael (Jr.)

-Anthony Cousin played a lot of point this year, but if Nic Moore is as good as advertised (should be Indiana Mr. Basketball) he should get the most minutes. Sycamore and Ace fans might be able to speak more about Nic moore. A lot of us see Cousin as possibly jumping in at 2G. Having him and Nic on the floor at the same time will give us a ton of speed.

-Trey Blue from Fordam this year didn't do as well as people thought, but there is still time to improve.

-We should have 4 PG's next year Moore, Cousin, Smith and Bryant Allen(transfer from Minnesota using football scholarship).

- We also have redshirt freshman big in Jordan Threloff who should get a ton of minutes next year and should provide us with a different look depending on the situation.

Nugget: We have no seniors on the squad next year and only 1 scholarship to give (currently) through the 2012-13 season.

I have a feeling Marc will be starting. I think we will probably start with this lineup at the beginning of the year:

Marc Sonnen
Anthony James
Johnny Moran
Jake Koch
Austin Pehl

But there are some wildcards in there. The Freshmen could make a big impact or they might not. Maybe someone will make a huge step up like AJ did this year. We will really miss Kwadzo's leadership and Luke's fire.
