Wow! How did they erase that deficit. Weren't they down by like 11? Incredible comeback. Incredible fight. If Alexander is auditioning for the Belmont job this was a whale of a performance!

Lipscomb will face the winner of #1 seed TCU and #2 seed Texas for NIT title. TCU won both regular season meetings over the horns.

Lipscomb won at TCU in November by a 73-64 margin.

Liscomb stepped up and played almost clinically perfect, boxing out, getting rebounds, hitting long threes.
Liscomb out-coached the Shockers and out hustled them.

Was really glad to see Lipscomb win that one. Hopefully they take the NIT trophy home.

Tonight-- April 4-- MSG---NIT Championship Texas (2 seed) vs Lipscomb (5 seed) ESPN 6:00 CST

The Shockers developed slow but became an excellent late season surprise. They could really be good next year.
With that said, most of us are fans of mid-major basketball and Wichita St, Butler and Creighton no longer fit that definition.

Most of us agree that we have to get Murray in. Good cases can also be made for Northern Kentucky and Belmont. I hadn't even considered Lipscomb but in the future I will be paying more attention.

Speak for yourself I still consider Wichita State and Creighton peers of Missouri State.

I wouldn't consider the Big East a mid-major conference in basketball, even if they aren't a Power 5 conference simply because that's really a football term. I don't think when Villanova won the national championship people were thinking that a mid-major had just won it all.

The AAC, though? Definitely still a mid-major. Wichita State is definitely still a mid-major, just in a mid-major that has FBS football teams and makes more money.

I love this conversation because I enjoy speculating. But the day about 5-6 years ago when the MVC announced a "major historic announcement" on Facebook and it ended up being that they extended the contract in St. Louis for Arch Madness, I realized that I should never hold my breath that the Valley will ever make a forward-thinking change beyond the status quo.

I would love to see either thing happen, but I will be blown away if we ever move beyond the ten-team round-robin model. I think it will take someone else leaving before Murray State joins the MVC. And I think it would require the Enterprise Center be torn down before the MVC Tournament is played anywhere else.

Anything else would require a major shift in the thinking of the Presidents.

I know it isn't his decision, but I do wonder what our current commish thinks about the possibility of 11. Like if he retired and a new young guy came in if he could make it happen.

Who we think are our peers is less important than who they think are their peers.

If tomorrow every Valley AD called all 3 schools offering a 2 for 1 contract, how many games would be signed?
