LOL! MSU this year would have dominated in the OVC this year!

If the conference keeps the same members, it'll be a terrific conference. UTEP hired an amazing coach in Floyd so they will continue to finish well. Memphis has Pastner and will always be good because of their talent. UAB has a coach that has taken a team to the Final Four. Southern Miss has a coach who is good but indescretions forced him out of the best job in the state of Iowa. Marshall has had a few nice years and look good. And Houston has a guy who has been the ACC COY before. Now granted SMU has underachieved under Doherty but SMU has big time boosters and in a huge market, they will succeed. Then look at Houston which has a legendary past, they will be back too. Noticing a common theme? I'm not even mentioning UCF and their awesome start of the season. These schools keep their coaches and many are legends at that.

Contrast with the Valley where no one keeps their coaches except maybe UNI and who knows about their future. It was clear that Jacobsen was out practincg like a Aggie Yell Leader to get that job. The arc of the USA is trekking upwards while the Valley is flat lining. Anyone can see it. Sure USA may not have the attendance or basketball savvy of the Valley but it has more potential which is a lot like Missouri State as a university. We are both going forward, not stuck in neutral.

In a brief history of ridiculous statements you have made, this one may top them all.

Look again at that all star list of coaches. What I conclude from that list is that C-USA is where scandal-laden coaches retire.

I'm all for schools dreaming of moving to bigger and better conference, and sometime I really hate the MVC but barring a major conference(s) shakout, I really have come to the conclusion when you look at the all the conferencel realities - the MVC is only thing that really makes sense and ultimately we (MVC schools) are all in this together. The MVC is what it is and if anything should try to think strategically by what moves in membership and policies it could make to strengthen itself.

I'm big on second chances. That is a nice part about our country, people can get second chances. And again, our representative in the NCAA last year had their coach leave to be an assistant before the season. That wouldn't happen in USA at most of them places.

Yeah, they got a good coach and may be better for it. But just in terms of status it is a big deal I would think. I'm just disappointed that this deal has not been confirmed yet, it is starting to seem that it may not happen.

It certainly seemed very plausible initially. There was a lot of smoke and a lot of the dots were connecting.

Only a couple of Bears posters (big football to FBS wonks) ever took this seriously. There was NO credible evidence (not even real smoke) to support this. While most MSU fans would think this a good move, the move in basketball would be lateral at best. I'm glad we are still where we fit well. I LOVE the Valley and believe it can pull well ahead of CUSA (except for football) with the proper effort as we did in the recent past.

What kind of notoriety would adding MSU bring? Do people nationally even know who Missouri State is? Do they even know it is the same school that was recently known as Southwest Missouri St?

It doesn't really matter about current attendance. FCS football isn't popular outside of the U of Montana and Appalachian State. No one in Springfield cares about FCS football. It would be an entirely different case if we were FBS.

At the time of me posting this I have not read past this post....but you are full of s*** with that statement and you know it.
