I don't think that is true? I heard SLU thought we reneged on a promised return game a few years ago. We said that wasn't the case and didn't play them that year. Then Majerus stated they would never play MSU again.

And yes we were controlling the series but they would have wiped the floor with us last year.

Looking forward to their game with WSU.

This, we asked that we put the series off a year or have SLU come to SGF two years straight and we would return the favor by playing up there two years in a row. Majerus commented that Zo was trying to duck SLU in a year where the Bears would be down and SLU was on the rise. I highly doubt the SLU brass complained about Chaifetz being full....

I'm betting that's a conference game sooner or later.

On the MSU/SLU issue, the way I heard it was that MSU had too many road games scheduled 2 seasons ago and wanted to put off the SLU game for one year. Majerus thought that we were being disrespected (as SLU was the game they asked to move), and stated that he would never agree to play MSU anywhere again. It was just bad timing that caused the situation (too many contracts coming due at the same time), and a coach who didn't think he should have been the one to wait. Oh well, stuff happens.

Actually the issue started when SLU would only sign a 2 year contract instead of 4 years. That was after Zo's 1st year and we hadn't been very good. They were hoping to parlay Majerus and the A-10 into a better out of conference schedule and with us being down did not want to be saddled with 4 years. However, we got pretty good and they ended up needing out of conference games. While we had indicated a desire to continue the series , when SLU tried to renew we already had too many road games and insisted that a new series would have to start in Springfield. Majerus got all bent out of shape and said we were not honoring our gentleman's agreement to renew and said he would not schedule us again. The reality was he opted not to sign a 4 year deal when he could of to take a chance on better options. They did finally come to fruition for SLU just not that year. It's a shame, it was a really good rivalry with MSU holding much the better end of it overall.

Sounds like UNI is close to signing a 4 year home/home with George Mason, starting next year.

UNI just finished a bracketbuster home/home with them this past season.

WSU is playing DePaul in the semifinals of the CBE tournament in KC. The other side of the bracket has BYU vs. Texas.

It appears we have one game remaining to schedule and the Wiggins' brothers are pulling for a match up.

Edit: I think KU's schedule is completed though.

I like the sound of that.

Also would have liked to see an ODU series...but they've fallen from the face of the earth

Looks like UNI has added a game at Virginia. Nothing has been announced but it shows up on the UVa website. Could be a good game. Tony Bennett played against UNI when he was at UWGB and UNI just got a transfer from UVa this summer in Jesperson. Would be nice if this were part of a 2 for 1 or something that got the Cavaliers into Cedar Falls next season. They are playing at Green Bay this year. If not, I'll still take it as a one off, it's a winnable game.

Hopefully it's not a buy game.
