Four teams sit in 3rd place at 6-6. UNI is alone in 7th at 5-7, but currently a Thursday night team along with LUC, UE, and Drake.

First place Shockers have a three game lead on secon place Sycamores. ISU has a three game lead on the pack.

Great team - Shockers (3 more wins and they secure the #1 seed, #1 seed not 100% secure but 99% sure shockers wont lose 4 games out of the 6 remaining.)

Good Team - Sycamores (4 more wins to secure the #2 seed, although I think 3 will do it if no one seperates out of the mess below)

Everybody else - What a cluster **** (#3 - #10) Your guess is as good as mine. It's like trying to solve a rubix cube.

I think Drake and Evansville are locks for Thursday

Most likely, at this point...Loyola is really a lock as well. 4 road games remaining, and 1 of their home games is WSU...The last Thursday spot is really up for grabs though. Would be rather surprising if it stayed as is and UNI ended up on Thursday.

While #3-6 have a game on UNI, the Panthers last leg of their schedule is a bit lighter. Can't envision them falling short of 8-10. Bradley & SIU are vexed with tougher final legs. MSU should be fine. Illinois State - comes down to their BU/SIU matches.

It's too bad the Sycamores got Hinsoned in Carbondale. Flip that result, and this finish would remain a (far-fetched) possibility:
1. Wheat Shockers 18-0
2. Sycamores 16-2
8-way tie for 3rd 7-11

Hinson spoiled the dream. (Though DU/LU/UE wouldn't have reached 7-11 anyway).

A 5-way tie for 3rd (8-10) is still viable, albeit unlikely.

Here are the basic scenarios for BU, assuming Wichita is an automatic L:

Remaining sked:

vs. InSU
@ IlSU
@ SIU
vs. Loyola
vs. Wichita
@ Drake

7-11: lose to Sycs at home, winless on the road
8-10: win against Sycs at home and winless on the road; lose to Sycs at home, win 1 on the road
9-9: win against Sycs at home, win 1 on the road; lose against Sycs win 2 on the road
10-8: win against Sycs at home, win 2 on the road; lose against Sycs, win all 3 road games

It would take flawless hoops from the Bravos to go 9-9 or 10-8, but despite how unlikely and uphill those marks may seem, I think they are somewhat plausible. If they can somehow win the next 2, I would think whatever was going on in December is irrelevant.

I think Bradley has the toughest schedule to remain in the top 6, but not by much.

Drake 3-10
Evansville 4-9
Loyola 4-9

UNI 6-7 (1-3 in round robin, but last 2 at home)
---------------
SIU 6-7 (1-2 in RR, 2 at home and 1 on road left)
ILS 6-7 (2-1 in RR, 1 home and 2 road left)
BU 6-7 (3-1 in RR, both left are on the road though)

So if everyone wins their home games against each other, then everyone will be 3-3 and it will come down to SOS...Although I don't envision these 4 all tying for 4th in the end either...And my team is only a game up on them, so still a lot of hoops left here! Does appear that 3 of the 4 teams are pretty much decided barring a miracle finish.
