Hopefully Murray State sent a few bottles of some fine KY Bourbon to loosen the ties of the Academia representing our schools before they vote.

1. Northern Iowa- One heck of a front line with Carlson, Koch and McDonnell. Also really solid back-court with McCloud, Lohaus and Haldeman. Like Isaiah Brown to be switch-gadget knife type of role player. Jake rebounds after a down season last year.

2. Illinois State- People are really forgetting incoming transfer Milik Yarbrough and Christian Romine, both had high major offer in high school. And always, Coach Muller has really good JuCo talent coming in, would always take an impact JuCo player rather than a freshman that needs to have their hands held.

3. Missouri State- Hard to trust Lusk even with the amount of talent he has. Would've been one if Kendrix would've stayed and continued to develop. He was an All-MVC type talent but happened to be coached by Lusk, go figure.

4. Southern Illinois- Solid core with Lloyd, Bol and Fletcher. The addition of Marcus Bartley from St. Louis should help account for the loss of Mike Rodriguez.

5. Murray State- Will win games solely on the fact they want to prove they belong in the conference.

6. Bradley- Wardle is a top three coach in the league. Still a year away but definitely going in a positive direction.

7. Evansville- Dru Smith is a future all-conference player. Ryan Taylor should be more comfortable in the offense, and Gibson should improve as well.

8. Valpo- Going to be a tough transition for the Crusaders. No Peters really hurts them in the MVC.

9. Loyola- Yes they score points, but they also give-up points. Everyone says they lost close games last year, well the rule of thumb is under 10 points, it is a sign of coaching. Moser is still there and has never had an above conference record since Little-Rock, and costs his team more games than winning them.

10. Drake- Another basement season for the Bulldogs.

11. Indiana State- Larry Legend is coming around any time soon.

That is most likely the worst pre season prediction I've seen yet  Loyola is easily top 3 team while you have UNI and ISUR rosters vastly overvalued. ISUR loses 5 of their 6 best players on a team that wasn't deep to begin with. Evans is out the entire off season with injury. A couple JC's and two transfers will not be enough to keep them on top. UNI has solid PF and C play with depth to boot. Nobody to even sniff all conference at the 1,2, or 3 for next season. Mccloud was a big letdown last year and the ultimate swiss army knife player already left town and his name was Morgan. Lohaus is a decent 1st guard off the bench on a contending team and he will be counted on to carry the load in the back court- not good. ISUB will not finish in the cellar with what they have coming in plus a returning Scott. Evansville roster is awful and their recruiting class is the poorest in the valley, maybe save Drake. Not clear if Gibson comes back either.

More thought out than any other predictions I've seen. I'm guessing you meant another Larry Legend isn't rather than is coming to help the Trees. Actually, Larry the original is now free of his Pacer obligations and could be available to help his alma mater.

Got to take pre-season picks for what they are! One fan's opinion. This fan sees Greats opinion more believable than your's Wagon. And that's not saying much since this topic will only become meaningful sometime after the season begins.

Give me a basketball reason why Loyola is top three in the league. This is a team that lost to Drake last year and Southern Illinois three times.

The MVC is a big man's league. And UNI and ISUr have the best front-lines of anyone in the conference.

The valley is most certainly not a big mans league. I can only think of one team that made the tourney with a true big man in the last ten years. Tuttle and the UNI team where he was able to play point forward and the offense flowed through him. The rest of the really good teams have been guard and wing dominant.
