WSU Recruit, Jake White, Named Parade AA

I don't have a link cause I don't know that Parade magazine is even on the Net. The print version has Jake White as a 4th team AA.

If he's as good as Teague, they have a great player coming.

What am I missing? How does someone get on a 4th team All-American when he was 2nd Team All-State in Minnesota and nobody else from Minnesota made it,Including the states Mr. Basketball? He put up very good numbers (not the best) and will be a very good player, but I wonder how they came up with him. I s he even on any top 150 lists?

He's a great get for WSU and could be a very good player for the shockers.

Edit: I was wrong, Shelby Moats from minnesota made the list.

Parade's A-A lists have always been "interesting". Look at the schools some of those guys are going to. FIU, Northern Arizona, Cal Poly. Clearly, Parade's A-A list is a lot different than anybody else's top 50, top 100, etc. They (Parade) always has some WTF picks on their A-A lists.

Anybody know who picks these lists for Parade?

final four finalist for mr. basketball.

Also first team all metro, I could not find all state list

Don't know what the problem is. He averaged like 23 and 11 in the largest class. Dropped as many as 48 in a game. Not saying he is something amazing but seems to me to be deserving of the honor.

no problem, I just find it a little odd that a second team all state player in Minnesota winds up on an AA list, especially when the Mr. Basketball didn't.

Like I said I think he will be a good player for the shocks. I know that UNI was after him for awhile until someone else commited, and I was a little dissapointed with that at the time.

DUBulldog, I wasn't aware the All-American list was random like that. I wonder what they base them on?

Not taking anything away from White, I think he'll be a good player in the MVC. But, when you look at the list, and some of the schools represented, you wonder how the list was picked.

You've got a kid who's only D-1 offer (according to Rivals) was from Delaware, a guy who picked UNC-Wilmington over Murray State, etc. I'm sure these guys are good players, but top 40 in the country?

I imagine they run out of names and then take money from the players parents and then put them on the 4th team. Also we all know if they did sign with FAU or Cal Poly then thats a joke as well.

I really don't give a crap and can't believe I'm sitting here trying to defend this one way or another. Really I'm a little embarrassed. Just found it a little irritating that instead of just moving along you have to try to prove some point. We will find out one way or another if he is any good in the next few years. This list really means nothing.

UNI was going after him, and I was hoping we would land him. Then we landed 6'8/6'9 Seth Tuttle (88 grade on ESPN) and started to back off a little. Then UNI landed a commit from 6'5 230lb Marvin Singleton (86 grade on ESPN and teammate of Mr. Basketball in Minnesota) and completed backed off completely. Minnesota has this cool thing were you can watch games for free online, even archived games. I was more impressed with Singleton than Mr. Basketball most night.

Jake White is in 89 on ESPN, so all three are pretty equal.

I wish I would have gotten White just so he didn't end up at WSU though.
