Here's the follow-up to the guards article... this time, the format is different!

Let's see - 10 teams times 2 forwards per team = 20 forwards. I don't see the reason for going to 20, 10 would have been plenty.

Van Deest is not a "hometown product"

You are right - Bettendorf is farther from Des Moines than I thought...

Echenique will only be a junior, not a senior...two more years of him and McDermott playing together...

I understand why you want more page clicks (mo money, mo money, mo money), but is there any way you can format these so that you don't have to visit at least 6-10 pages to see the list?

I don't think I'd place Ekey, Harris or Prosser as high as you did, but I've only seen each of them play 3-4 times.

As far as the Drake guys you listed....

Clarke, in addition to playing with a brace the 2nd half of the season, missed about 8-10 games prior to that. Having only 1 good arm might have adversely affected both his shooting and rebounding.

Van Deest was playing hurt the entire season, although he didn't miss any games 'til late in the season, so I can see why you split his season where you did.

I think it's a little unfair to label Ben Simons a "one-dimensional player". He's mostly known as an outside shooter, but he showed this season that he's capable of putting the ball on the floor and creating his own shot. He was inconsistent, but not one-dimensional.

DU - My guards article had one page for every player. This article was broken up a little differently. I'm trying to have a healthy compromise between what the readers want and what the examiner.com admins want. I make so little money writing that I'd prefer to have it all on one or two pages. Makes no difference to my life at all. They like having ad revenue from many clicks. I can't blame them.

I'm working on it...

As for your assessment of the DU players, I can't argue any of it. Maybe "one-dimensional" was the wrong way to categorize Ben - I'd just like to see him rebound more and move the ball around the offense better.

Thanks for the feedback...

Believe me, Drake fans want to see Simons rebound better, too. And, I know Drake's coaches want to see that, too. We didn't see it often enough, but there were 4-5 games where Simons was doing it all....hitting the 3, scoring on drives, creating for his teammates, etc. If he can do that consistently, he has all-conference potential. As a 6-8 wing player, he can create lots of match up problems.

I've seen my share of one-dimensional players at DU over the years....unfortunately, a lot of them weren't even any good at that one dimension. :)

I understand your dilemma with keeping the readers happy vs keeping examiner.com happy. I just know that I'm less likely to read something through to the end if I have to continually click more links to read the whole article. Good luck finding that happy medium.

Thought that Harris is a top 10 forward in the MVC. The concussion dealt him new hand. He'll be a small forward next year as UE recruit 4 new 6'8" to go with Peeler. Any article that lends a view into the MVC is great news.

The only problem I had was the living social ads that I couldn't close to read what was written behind them. I am tech-challenged so it may have been just my problem

The ad thing has been a problem that I can't correct - all the ads are put on the pages by examiner.com.

If there is a part of the article you can't read, let me know and I'll cut and paste it to you...
