Now that Turgeon is going to Maryland, any chance Marshall will leave?

If I was a&m I would look to go after chewbacca, uni or isub coach before Marshall. Chewy has bcs experience and the other have have done more than Marshall in the last few years.

If Marshall wouldn't leave for NC St, I don't think he'd leave for A & M either. I'm not sure if A & M would be considered a better job than NC St or not, but I wouldn't think it is.

Highly unlikely. Mark was a perfect fit for the culture at A&M. I can't see Gregg and his personality fitting in, at all, in College Station.

Considering where the two programs are, I would consider TA&M to be the better job.

In today's sports, winning is all the matters. You can step into TA&M and win right away. It might take a while at NC State

Also, you can never be better than 3rd rung in North Carolina to UNC and Duke, and some years not even that as they have some pretty competitive mids also. A&M is a football school first and foremost as is all of Texas, but basketball is a sport you can best the Longhorns at ; plus all you have to be is in the top 5 of the new Big12[10], and you probably dance most years. Marshall might be getting a little nervous 4 years in with no NCAA appearences. NC State and some of his other past suitors might not have gotten him there quickly either, you'd have to really mess up at A&M not to make it at this point and time.

That said, Marshall seems committed to WSU at present and that's well and good to. The league is once again garnering some top level coaching talent like it had a couple other times. That has always meant a very competitive league and some national acclaim in the past.

A&M is not a better job than NCST. No way.

A&M is the better team right now, but it is not a better job. A&M is a football school through and through, and even with the success they have had in hoops in the last decade or so, basketball is often an afterthought.

Tough call. I think it all depends on your valuation of your goals.

Both programs have a lot to offer, and both have shortcomings. I think most coaches aren't willing to sit back and be "comfortable". They look for and desire to find the challenges.

I guess you could look at this criteria to determine which is the "better" job; If you're successful, are you likely to get offers from and subsequently go to other programs? A&M? Yes NCState? Probably not so much. Edge Wolfpack.

I could actually see Marshall going to A&M. It would be another logical step up. He is going to lower BCS team that if he does well over the next couple years could make a make a move to East Coast. But the risk is A&M will probably always be the 3rd, 4th or 5th best team in the league. That will get you to the tournament, but won't get you the type of seed that would give you a good chance to get to 2nd round.
