Also, you can never be better than 3rd rung in North Carolina to UNC and Duke, and some years not even that as they have some pretty competitive mids also. A&M is a football school first and foremost as is all of Texas, but basketball is a sport you can best the Longhorns at ; plus all you have to be is in the top 5 of the new Big12[10], and you probably dance most years. Marshall might be getting a little nervous 4 years in with no NCAA appearences. NC State and some of his other past suitors might not have gotten him there quickly either, you'd have to really mess up at A&M not to make it at this point and time.
That said, Marshall seems committed to WSU at present and that's well and good to. The league is once again garnering some top level coaching talent like it had a couple other times. That has always meant a very competitive league and some national acclaim in the past.
