Official MVCfans 2011-12 Prediction - 5th Place

Each week we will open a poll for users to predict the end of season finish for the MVC 2011-12 basketball season. We will work in reverse order, concluding with the predicted MVC champion chosen by our users between the last two teams remaining in week 9 (just in time for MVC media day).

I think it's pretty obvious Evansville is going to get voted in here, although my pick is UNI.

I picked UNI as well.

Had to pick UNI as well. I just don't think their defense, which has been a cornerstone of that team will be as good as it has in the past. Plus the loss of one of the best PG's in the MVC will hurt as well.

No doubt. To me, Kwadzo's loss is double whammy in that he was also one of the league's best defensive players.

Wait, I didn't think he was one of the best PG's at all. :huh:

I mean, certainly not in the top 3 considering Young, Odum, and Simms-Edwards were tearing up the league and earning all-league honors. :Bam:

I went with Evansville, but I had them at 6. I just don't see any bulk inside that can hold up with some of the other teams in the upper half.

UNI has questions, but I think their style of play will keep them in games and the young depth will surprise once conference play hits. Of course, it could surprise in the wrong direction for UNI fans, too. But in that case, we're looking at Thursday.

voted UNI. I think Evansville, UNI, and MSU are all interchangeable.
