Pretend you are an MVC coach picking the preseason all-MVC team. Pick the best five MVC players, without picking any from the team you support. For this exercise only, ignore their year in school to avoid the "I picked player X because he has two years left as opposed to player Y who is a senior" stuff.

Here's mine:

Odum, InSU. He gets a lot of respect from me because I feel he is a great field general and has a very high bball IQ.
Weems, MSU - although I don't like his antics, he is easily one of the best talents in the league.
Toure' Murray, WSU - I really like his skill set as long as he isn't playing PG.
Rayvonte Rice, Drake - body size and quickness make him one of best penetrators in the league.
Stutz, WSU - If he can work on limiting his fouls, he could be the difference maker for WSU.

(Just missing out for me, in no particular order: Lathan, InSU; Carmichael, IlSu; Simms-Edwards, BU; Seck, SIU and James, UNI)

Young -CU
James - UNI
Weems -MSU
Mcdermott - CU
Echenique - CU

I'd like to have Ben Smith for WSU and Koch because they'll have good years, but you can't field a team to beat the five I listed.

Odum and Ryan would be a nice pair. Weems for sure. Big guys are awfully tough. Stutz has the potential as does Carmichael. Might take Koch based on what I think he could do. What's the story with Taylor Brown?

I have to call you out "Hail Our Panthers" because DoubleJay said pick your best 5 and then you name a second team and third team. You didn't follow protocol!!! What's worse you sucked my friend Birdman into it as well. :duel:

I think Odum and McDermott are the 2 no-brainers. I'd go with Echinique and Ryan too. Not sure about the other? Probably Rice or Murray.
