As a result of the buzz surrounding the team after the performances of Doug McDermott with the Team USA U-19 squad and Gregory Echenique’s quest with the Venezuela National Team this summer, Creighton will have the spotlight of national television coverage shown on the second-annual “Bluejay Madness.”
Based on a post on the Creighton Blue Crew Facebook Page and independent confirmation from other sources, White & Blue Review has learned that Creighton will be a part of ESPN coverage of madness events all over the country. Their whip-around coverage will include the festivities being held at Sokol Arena on October 14th–the first official night of practice for the 2011-12 season. Last season ESPN visited the likes of Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas State, Memphis and Gonzaga, so to be included this year is quite the honor. As part of their production, ESPN will have cameras at this year’s Bluejay Madness to use with their studio production of the night’s events.
