The MVC Report - Wichita State Shockers preview

I added my preview of the 2011-12 Wichita State Shockers to The MVC Report. The difference between the top three teams is slim, but I ended up choosing WSU to finish third. I'm on record as saying that more than one MVC team will be dancing this March- will WSU be one of them?

I don't think the Shocks have an NCAA team this year. Just my 0.02.

wow. 3rd place prediction for the shockers behind Indiana St. You must have looked into the eyes of Jake Odum. Prepare for the shocker fallout. :lol:

Third place with an NCAA bid? What MVC team wouldn't take that? I know I would right now.

If WSU finishes 3rd they most certainly will not be in the NCAA tournament unless they win in St. Louis which everyone knows they won't do.

Is anyone surprised by this selection? I know I am not.

I think you're right. I know UNI doesn't. CU is the only team to feel mildly comfortable about a bid, and even they don't have much wiggle room in their non-conference schedule.

I don't agree with the 3rd place pick, the Shockers will end up first or second. Carl Hall will, most assurdedly. be a factor. I have it on the QT that he pressed 185 lbs, 27 times, and that, folks, is NBA type strength. Besides Hall though, we have James Anacreon and Jake White, which both should get minutes too.

I also got told that Ron Baker is a stud, and it will be hard not to give him some court time.

FLASH! The MVC is not a weight lifting contest. Can he score points, can he rebound on both ends of the court, can he guard anybody, etc., etc.?

Yes, yes and yes. And strength can be a major factor in basketball.
