Just read the story about important nonconferencegames.....

Uni plays odu and then flies cross country to play st marys at 1am?

Yikes man.....that sounds brutal.

It's certainly a test, no doubt.

Not ideal travel schedule but it gives us a) another good game this year, b) an ESPN game, and c) a quality home game next year.

Of course, we could easily stay at home and schedule NC A&T or something, which would be a game that literally nobody will be watching. But a game like that has absolutely no value whatsoever.

Two good games, just a really difficult turnaround.

Winning on the road anywhere is difficult, winning two games in 28 hours after flying halfway across the country and then flying all the way back across the country is crazy!

If Jake did it to get a decent home game next year I can understand a little but it is a pretty big challenge for this year's team.

Hopefully they charter a cargo plane so they can have a walk-through mid-flight! :?

I think it's just one of those things. When you're a mid-major and you're asked to be part of a made for TV ESPN event, you do it. Sure, the ratings won't be as good as the 7pm game, but it's the 2nd game of the event. The highlights will be replayed all day.

I would be fine with Wichita State taking a game like UNI's. It's ESPN, not THAT bad of a time, and a home-and-home. Sign us up.

Now, if the game was at 10 AM or whatever it was when SIU played...I'd pass on that.
