Donivine Stewart leaves Bradley

Frosh Stewart becomes the second transfer out of Bradley this spring, joining fellow frosh Devon Hodges. Neither saw significant minutes for the Braves.

Stewart's transfer means the Braves have 2 open scholarships to fill as of right now.

I doubt many MVC fans have any idea who Donivine Stewart was as he rarely played :)

The news in the article, which has since been updated, is that BU hopes to be hosting two recruits this weekend.

Mislav Brzoja, a 6-4 guard from Croatia who plays at Traders Point Christian Academy in Indiana and Matej Buovac, a 6-7 small forward also from Croatia, who plays at La Lumeire Prep in Indiana.

Brzoja is by far the higher touted guy and it would be quite the surprise if he ended up at Bradley as he has offers from Vandy, Northwestern and Utah. I know Geno Ford has made him his top recruiting target this spring. Brzoja has been on campus two times already for unofficial visits.

Buovac is one of the best pure shooters in Indiana and was a great shooter in Croatia.

If Bradley has an edge it is that there is a scholarship for both guys. They grew up together in Zagreb, played on the same club team growing up, and both started for Croatia's U18 team this past summer in the European Championships.

Sounds pretty smart to me bringing in the guys buddy if he is decent enough to get the good one.

Best of luck to the Braves this weekend! Anything that makes Bradley better, makes the MVC better. It would be nice to see them make big improvements
[Insert snappy comeback]

Agreed Birdman. It isn't that Buovac is a bad player. He already has an offer from New Mexico State. He is a really, really good shooter. He scored 7 ppg and shot 45% from three for the Croatian U18 team.

But Brzoja appears to be the real deal. He averaged 14 ppg for that team and then started on the Croatian U19 team as a 17-year old. He started against the USA in the U19 World Championships.

For reference...Doug McDermott scored 7 points in that game. Mislav Brzoja scored 9 and Croatia beat the US. In no way am I saying he is a better player than Doug, but that game and the U19 championships are a point of reference for MVC fans.

I'm not betting Bradley gets the kid but I do know he loves Geno, has called Buovac a "brother", and he has already been to campus two times.
