SIu misses a shot at the buzzer and loses by one, 58-57.

Despite the loss, it says a lot about Hinson that he got them that close. I was really rooting for the Salukis and Barry in this one. Damn.

Had a chance to take the ball in and attack the rim, but jacked up a bad three pointer instead down by a point. Shoot.

SIU looks like the early darkhorse for a top half finish.

Burrah can coach. He just can't get the committee to award an at-large to a top 25 RPI bunch!

WKU lost their leading scorer TJ Price to an ankle injury with about 6 minutes left in this one and still pulled it out.

I have to disagree. BH is coach of the year if we don't play on Thursday. Still happy with the direction this team is headed.

What Barry is doing with SIU is unbelievable. The only thing I can see that would explain what SIU is doing is that CLo destroyed confidence in the players and they quit on him. Barry has convinced them that they can compete and they can win some games.

If SIU avoids Thursday night in St. Louis, I will support Barry for CoY over Marshall, even if WSU should happen to win the league after a 4th place prediction.

SIU, if they keep playing like they are, will soon make a believer out of me. They may still be a Thursday team, but you will know you've been in a game when you play them.

I think that sometimes I am too harsh in my criticism of my Salukis. It is hard to not criticize after the last couple of years. That said, they play harder than and team since our last S16 team and they appear to be enjoying themselves on the court and thus are a fun team to watch. When you are playing a 6'1" power forward, NCAA wins will be hard to come by. I am thinking 4-6 Valley wins will be great (I really hope for BH's sake, 2 are against MSU).

BH was as Dawgie said, the PERFECT hire for the Saluki situation. This team has already exceeded my expectations and I have already watched more games this year than all of last year. I think there are many Saluki fans that will tell you this. Given his short window, I am also very impressed with what BH is doing recruiting wise. Beane will be a very good player in a couple of years, Pendelton is as athletic as we have seen in a while and the 2013 recruiting class exceeds my expectations as well. We aren't good this year, we won't be good next year (especially if Jackson leaves as is rumored) but BH has us trending up again. For that I am happy.

I have a question for the Doggie fans.

Has Coach Hinson cleaned out the barn yet?

Prior to his arrival, I think Coach Lowery set some kind of record for collecting misfits, malcontents, trouble makers and talentless players.

I have always admired Coach Hinson and I thought the Bars crapped on him.

He's working on it. Taylor was arrested during the offseason. Hasn't dressed for a game yet this year. Is also disciplining for missing classes. Unheard of under Fat Albert.
