UNI vs. St. Mary's 12/23

Surprised no one posted this yet but UNI beat SMC today 82-75. UNI finally played to their potential today getting a win against a good team.

This is what makes this team so frustrating. They can look either really awful or look really good. Did a great job of hold Dellavedova in check as he only got 9.

I have noticed we seem to struggle against teams with athletic bigs or big athletic wings. This worries me heading into Wichita who is probably the most athletic team in the conference. If we play to our potential we can finish top 3 in the conference. We play like we have at other times and we are playing on Thursday. I really hope we have turned a corner, but who knows.

Was a good day for me today as UNI got a big win, and the Bengals beat the Steelers to make the playoffs! Who Dey!

Solid game by the Panthers. Dellavedova came in shooting close to 50% from three but UNI kept rotating defenders on him and didn't give him many good looks and he ended up 1-7. He did get 6 assists but SMC only had 10 total to 17 turnovers.

For UNI, Tuttle led with 18 points and 7 boards, Koch had 16 points, 9 boards, 5 assists and 2 blocks.

Will have to bottle up the effort to have any chance at Wichita on Saturday and even then will probably get run out of the gym by the third string.

Panthers have played some tough teams, no doubt they have learned a few things. Big win.

Great win to end what turned out to be a brutal non-conferene schedule for the Panthers. Scoring 50 points in the second half was a very pleasant surprise.

IMO, UNI has played well in all but three games; Stanford, Iowa, and UNLV. Of those three, UNLV was the only team out of our reach. Bennet is just a freak of nature and UNI doesn't have anyone capable of slowing him down. We haven't faced an athlete like him since Kenneth Faried walked into the McLeod Center in 2010.
