Why were Sawvell's minutes reduced so much this past season?
I thought he was one of the better freshman 2 years ago.

Are his minutes expected to bounce back this year? He was a big disappointment last year.

all of sawvell's freshman minutes, and valley all freshmen honors came at the 5 spot. most of the 5 spot minutes last year went to another valley all freshmen selection, egidijus (sp?, don't ask me to spell his last name without pulling up another screen).
i believe sawvell completes the transition to the 4 spot this year. i'm hoping his work this summer and this euro tour (where i believe he has been selected to play the 4) will all help in the transition. i'm hoping he is our starting 4 all year, and gets all valley consideration at the end of 2013-2014!!

This and the fact that Sawvell defense was a bit less than Mockevious and Jaylon Moore. The four spot was a weakness in the Aces program last year. Lewis Jones at 6'4 along with Adam Wing were the main players at that spot At 6'4 Jones got to taste basketball as he would drive under only to be blocked. Late in the season Wing took that spot over and Sawvell came off the bench as the 3rd Center when Moore and Egidijus
got in foul trouble.

We'll see more or Sawvell in the 4 this year. Probably the starting power forward.

Sawvell had 6 pts. & 10 rebs in the GSA's first game and 17 pts. & 7 rebs in their second game...both wins.
