Glad to hear they are finally getting him back on campus.

Why has this taken so long to do? Has Larry been unwilling to come back to ISU? Always wondered why the court isn't named after him as well instead of John Wooden.

Why would a school want to take advantage of one of the Top 10 players in history for recruiting purposes. That would be unfair.

That's great to hear wish I could go to Terre Haute to see it. Its gonna put a nice touch to Hulman like the Doug Collins/Will Robinson statue did at Redbird

Bird came back a few times when they were good in 2000 and 2001. He is a busy man and has a pro basketball team to run. Still would think he would be back more often. Pretty cool the statue is just a bit larger than the one of Magic outside of Michigan State's arena.

If you start to have sustained success your star alumni will come out of the woodwork. WSU had pretty much all of their NBA all stars in Atlanta milling around with fans I heard.

It's a shame that Indiana State doesn't put more into their basketball program given their history.

It's a shame that Sycamores don't care more about basketball. The average Indiana State fan doesn't follow basketball. If they did, we'd see some excitement on this board...or at least their own board. As it is, nary a peep is heard. Two years ago...after a mediocre season followed by a St Louis championship there was all kinds of over the top hullabaloo. Now there is only silence. Why? Because most trees just don't care!

A few in present company are excluded from the masses.

As a contrast I offer the Shocker fan: we are rabid and irrational creatures even as we finish in ninth place. I'm guessing we are slightly more tolerable as recent F4 winners than in the past. Maybe not,but it's certainly more enjoyable on this end.

It's unfortunate. I'd say it's because they've been bad for a while, but they were solid last year and should be very good this year.

Jake Odum should be enough to excite anyone.

Weird to me that you can have a good team, one of the best players in the conference, a legacy that includes Larry Bird and John Wooden, and be in a basketball-heavy state like Indiana -- and still not have much fan support.
