I don't think any Shocker fans have actually expected Watson to be on the team next year. If he was going to show up, he would have been a walk-on redshirt, most likely.

We pretty much knew Watson was off the table academically when we went after Darius Carter back in the spring. That was our last available scholarship, they play the same position, and they're essentially identical in size. Except, according to JucoRecruiting.com, Earl Watson was the #36 JUCO player in the country in this last class, while Carter was #8 and an All American. I've been very happy with that move since Carter committed. That looks like a definite trade up to me.

I would have liked to see Watson as a RS walk-on this year, though. Definitely would have helped with depth next year.

:+1: Carter is a beast! Just thought it was worthy of a thread.

I don't see how anyone could logically make that argument.

I would give in to them being equal maybe . Basically the same ....hard to argue more speculation. heads or tails they both are a quarter. I'm just bias against Vicennes after Carter choose the Shock and Delaney the LOBOS!

Gotta love Shaq starting with the name and Coleby and Lufile.

I like the Shaq vs Taylor battle for 4 yrs.

Carter averaged 15.8 ppg and 8.6 rpg, while Watson averaged 9.5 and 6.4. Vincennes went to the semi-finals of the playoffs, I don't think Chipola made the playoffs. Carter's an All American. Carter's clearly the better recruit on paper.

I would more likely make the comparison of Watson and Lufile (last year). However, Lufile did average 10-11 points and 8 rebounds and was second team Jayhawk Juco League (better credential than Watson). Carter can play on the perimeter and inside and is considered a Juco AA. Bradleyfan1 is re-writing history to fit his narrative so Bradley will be competitive for the MVC title.
