Who will be named the 2013-14 MVC Newcomer of the Year?

Continuing our individual award predictions - Select the player that you believe will be named the 2013-14 Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Year for men's basketball. While a freshman can be selected as Newcomer of the Year, for the purposes of this poll we have not included them.

Last year our users selected Richard Carter of Drake, but it was Cleanthony Early who claimed the 2012-13 NOY award.

I know that Drake and Illinois State will have the most newcomers who get lots of playing time.....not sure who will emerge from that group.

Illinois State is likely to start 5 newcomers. It will be difficult to beat out all five of the starters in Normal, however I did not vote for Lofton..

Wes Washpun is going to start and be on the floor a lot for UNI. He's not going to put up huge offensive numbers, which will hinder his chances, but he's probably the best on ball defender Jake has had and that's saying something when Kwadzo and Johnny Moran played here...

Will Washpun be able to score enough to win NOY? I know he is a great athlete but the book on him is he cannot shoot. The new rules lend itself to more slashing and less spot shooting so he should be able to get some points at the rim but I wouldn't want him shooting outside 12 ft.

I went with the homer pick and went with Zach Lofton. He will start from day one and already looks to be our best scorer. He may have the best opportunity out of everybody on that list to prove himself.

This is Mvouika's award to lose. He has to be the front runner out of this group.

Monika should be a tough matchup for other Valley teams given his size (6' 6") at the 2. He looks like he can really shoot. And he seems like he can handle it well enough to even slide to PG at times. Like a lot of jucos his defense may cost him playing time though.
