Here it Goes

Time is almost here for College basketball! Big headlines going into the MVC are Wichita's post Final Four season, Loyola's Welcome, and the Gargoyles. Can't wait! :bounce:

LOVE IT!

Looking forward to this Valley season, and IMHO think a few MVC will surprise (in a good way) in the non-con portion of the season. Should make for an exciting Valley slate. Just days away before MVC hoops begin....oh yeah!

Evansville has a team that could surprise. Who's projected to play point for UE?

I don't think UNI is going to surprise anyone in the Valley. We all think they're going to be solid. I think UNI is going to surprise some people outside the Valley.

JuCo players tend to be a lot better in their Sr years than in their Jr years. Arop was solid as a Jr. If he improves the way many do, he and Odum are going to be a handful for any Valley team (WSU included).

I think Bradley has one of the best possibilities to make a big jump this year. MSU is going to fight them for a spot in the MVC standings, but in OOC, both teams have the pieces in place to have a good run.

Loyola is a total wild card, but as I recall their OOC schedule is maybe a bit worse than Jank was scheduling for the Redbirds.

I think Giacoletti and Hinson are good coaches, but they've both got some HUGE rebuilding to do. We should celebrate any OOC W from SIU or DU.

Arop wasn't a JUCO. He was a transfer from Gonzaga.

Thanks for the correction.

That's going to limit my estimate of Arop's potential improvement, which will not change my overall estimate of what Odum and Arop can do.

Last year I thought Arop was exactly what the Trees needed. He's a great complement to the game Odum brings.

I can't handle it. Too much sports goodness. Please delay the start of basketball until the football bowl break.

Last night Duane Gibson started. His substitute was Jaylon Brown. Both are true freshmen.

And both can drive to the basket, and score when fouled. And they can hit free throws when fouled. Not going to say much until they play better opponents, but there is talent in this freshman class.
