There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Nice win for the Shockers. WSU has to have one of the better backcourts in the country. And even though Early didn't shoot it well in this one he still looks like an improved all around player this year. But In the games I've seen I'm just not impressed with the play at the 5 position?

Our centers have been disappointing on both ends of the court. Lufile is much improved, but not enough. Coleby and Carter have to get better.

I'm worried about our play there too. Tmac is a freshman and is up and down. Kirk is much improved but a bit undersized and a poor FT shooter. And Addo (4/5 guy) has not been impressive at all so far. Tmac should be the long term solution though. I think he'll be a very good Valley center.

"One of the better backcourts in the country" might be a little stretch, but they're good, and they're damned smart. They don't make many mistakes, and they make you make a lot of them.

They combined for 13 assists, 6 steals and 2 turnovers in 2 games.

As for the bigs, it's all relative. The guards are so good there's really no way for the bigs to look all that good. Certainly it's not the strength of the team, but I'm happy with the progression and I will continue to believe the 3 main 5s will cause more problems than not, especially in conference.

Not a stretch. No doubt "one of the better back courts in the country."
Thoughts and prayers to WSU finding a new conference.

True quote. The MVC looks like it's taken a significant step back this year, unless Missouri State can keep performing like this when their SOS finally climbs out of the 300s, and unless Indiana State can develop some consistency worthy of their experience.

typical annoying article...

As far as the watered down comment. I think we can all agree that the Valley without Creighton is less than with Creighton. I believe that's what the author meant by the comment but the phrasing was a little confusing. Regardless as a WSU fan I found the entire article annoying and the author overall to be ignorant of WSU basketball and the Valley. I wouldn't worry about it.

This was the first time I've been able to watch the shocks this year. The biggest thing for me was Vanvleet is the REAL DEAL. He takes care of the ball as well as any pg in the nation and can not only create plays for others but for himself as well. I was also surprised by how well baker was able to get his own shots. I have a hard time seeing the shockers lose more than a couple games in the valley this year.

Agreed. The MVC doesn't have Creighton. No kidding. If, say, Indiana State played more consistently and was a top 25 team, the league would be just fine. Really get sick of hearing about Creighton after awhile. Nothing the MVC could do about it, they left, it hurts, but anyone who actually knows much about the league knows its still not a bad league. Just time for some other schools to step up.
