Bears really didn't play that well but still get the win at home. Ruder, Gulley and Thurman with good games. We move to 10-1 at home. 4-4 in conference. Even with all the injuries I still think we have avoid Thursday and finish in the top half of the MVC.

2 Saluki players that were impressive were Jackson and Smithpeters. Smithpeters was lights out from long range.

SIU will continue to lose a lot of games but started 3 freshman and a sophomore last night. For the first time in 4-5 years it feels like we might be better next year than this year. That is a great feeling.

Is Smithpeters a good shooter on the year? Just curious because he couldn't miss last night.

Lusk said after the game his strategy on defense was to concede the 3 because on the year SIU isn't very good from long range. Smithpeters really made us pay for that until we got up on him in the 2nd half.

Still in need of some size to go along with your guards, but yes, I think they will be better next year.

I will make no predictions as to production but SIU will have one of the biggest 5's in the MVC next year. Pair him with Olaniyan who seems to be making big strides and SIU could have its best frontcourt in years.

I think that's a great start, but still need at least one more IMO.

Jordan Caroline could be that guy. I am really not worried about next year. 2015-16 is when the pressure starts on BH. SIU was a 4 year rebuild at minimum, possibly 5-6 and I am only talking about getting to the possibility of upper half Valley finishes. Contending for titles will require some real luck. Lowery will haunt SIU for many years to come.

I think you are right on.

There are not many coaches that I hold in total disregard. Coach Lowery is one of them.
