#8 Wichita St at #25 Utah - ESPN2 10pm

Shockers are a slight underdog for tonight's game against the Utes. Should be a great game and a chance for WSU to get a very nice OOC win.

Being a little nitpicky, but WSU is actually #8 in the AP poll.

Should be a great game. Huge test for the Shox tonight. I think the last time we were an underdog was at St. Louis last December.

Let's go Wichita! I need to see a nice Valley W after the heart breaker in Normal last night.

The shox have a bit of a hole in recruiting post players. We'll see how that works out tonight. We're going 6'7" against 7'0" and 6'4" against 6'7" in the front court.

Past that it's a 6'10" Fr, a 6'7" RS Fr, a 6'8" Fr, and a 6'11" JuCo project. 4 of 6 front court players are first year players. To me, that's a hole in recruiting. That could bite us tonight, because Utah's 7' guy (A Fr) is already getting NBA looks.

Thanks. I've corrected it. I wanted to use the poll that had Utah ranked, but then failed to post the corresponding WSU rank.

The 6-8 player, Tevin Glass, is actually a JUCO. Additionally, I disagree with your assessment that we have a hole, other than in experience.

The 6'8" guy is Kelly. Glass's main function during games is to make sure the chair at the very end of the bench does not levitate and get stuck on the ceiling.

Oh, if experience doesn't count, we're in great shape in the front court. We have plenty of guys we can put into the games. Those guys foul like crazy. They don't tend to score many points, and they don't play defense all that well. Morris (RSFr) is a bit ahead of the rest, but he's a foul machine against lesser players than he will face tonight.

Carter - 10 fouls in 66 minutes
Morris - 13 fouls in 50 minutes
Wamukota (6'11" JuCo) - 10 fouls in 32 minutes
Nurger - 9 fouls in 58 minutes

We've got plenty of guys we can put on the court, but we don't have plenty of guys who are ready to play against a top-25 team. When we are a top-10 team, we should probably have our standards a notch or two above what "worked" back in 2006.

We really need another couple of front court upperclassmen. Recruiting JuCo's didn't produce significant results last Spring.

Other than Carter, our experienced front court player is a 6'4" wing playing out of position. That's a recruiting hole.
