MVC Media Day - Tuesday, October 27

Postby MVCfans » October 27th, 2015, 5:48 am

MVC media day is being held in STL today. The league honorees and predictions of the media and coaches will be released.

I have linked to my predictions below. Admission: I was able to copy and paste most of the first paragraph, but that's what is expected when Wichita State returns as a heavy favorite with the 2 best players in the league. Evansville *should* finish second as they return everyone and add Willie Wiley, so I gave them the edge over Illinois State who might have been second if Reggie Lynch had remained in Normal. I like Loyola to jump into the Top 4 and see a Seth Tuttle-less UNI sliding down a couple of spots this season.

Indiana State and Drake begin the next five, but I wouldn't be surprised to see either jump into the Top 4. For Anthony Beane Jr's sake, I wish I could give a more favorable outlook to the Salukis, but a Thursday night in STL looks forthcoming. Missouri State and Bradley bring up the rear as I expect very long seasons for each.

link: The MVC Report - MVC predictions

My 1-10 finish:
Wichita St
Evansville
Illinois State
Loyola
UNI
Indiana State
Drake
SIU
Missouri State
Bradley

DAP it is on the 1st team and I can't argue that. How about Loyola with the lone first place ballot that didn't go to WSU?

Oh no! Now we have to sit through pages upon pages of posts about how Porter Moser voted for his own team & how that's a travesty.

So...
Why did Muller vote for his team last year, but not this year?

Shows a complete lack of confidence is this years team, does it not? I mean. Last year his players were good enough to get his vote, but not this year?

6 games back.

That looks like stupidity, not confidence.

In a radio interview, he was asked this question. He said that with last year's team he felt that the core group had proven that they could play with anyone in the league. With this year's group, he felt that they still need to prove themselves.

Beat the #1 team in the conference & lead the #2 team in the championship game for a majority of the game. That doesn't make them #1 but close. That's what good predictions are; spot on or at least close.

So he told his team "I don't trust you, or think you're as good as a team that finished 6 games out of first place"

Good precedent to set, coach.

That was never talked about last year, but it becomes a hell of a thing to put into your players heads when you don't become the one to be different and pick your own team

Blow an 18 point lead in the title game and lose by 9 (and fall behind by double digits)....after catching absolute fire for 2 days.

I'll trust what a 30 game schedule leading up to that says about ISU, rather than a hot 36 hours
