RTC Check-in

Here is my MVC Check-in for Rush the Court this week. Start bashing now on my analysis.

It is very hard watching the Valley as a whole these days. 1-8 against the MWC. Actually 1-9 with Bradley losing to TCU before the challenge games. Way to carry the torch Northern Iowa.

Your assessment is spot on. Nothing to bash there. The valley has been simply bad. Our best (predicted) teams are not winning crucial resume building games.

At this point Missouri St. and Wichita St. are our only hope at multi bids if they finish out the season strong, run the table in MVC play and see each other in the Championship.

I think an at large is all but impossible as neither will have a notable win in the non conference. Will either get any credit for going 15-3 in the MVC this year? Unfortunately as bad as we've been I doubt it.

In your blurb about Drake in Alaska where you talk about Drake getting a technical foul after a foul call with 6 seconds left....perhaps you should point out that the foul was a charging call that went against Weber State (in Drake's favor) and that the Drake player didn't slam the ball in anger, but simply bounced it above his head.

As far as this:

Drake (2-4) (9)—Drake has lost three straight games and have to go on the road again this week to Eastern Michigan. Though it is a winnable game, the Valley schools have not been very good on the road and don’t bode well for a team that really needs a win. Their sports information director abruptly resigned, too. I hope it wasn’t because of the basketball team.

This guy has been around for 22 years.....he has been around for Kurt Kanaskie's first two seasons (2-26 and 3-24 with 0 MVC wins in either year). I don't think this year's basketball team would be enough to scare him away after sticking through those seasons.
