Looks like the increased talent level in the MVC and Loyola's NCAA Tournament success have brought increased national attention to the MVC. Three MVC teams are in this top 25 list from MidMajorMadness: Loyola (3) ISUr(16) and Bradley (23). A bit surprised not to see SIU even among the Others Receiving Votes but still great news for the conference. We need to keep our presence on lists like this strong throughout the year. We can do it! Go MVC!

Both ISU and bu move up. Really surprised not to see SIU on that list. If Bol is healthy they should be inline for a great season.

I'm not. SIU is still disrespected because we haven't gone to preseason for a while. I expect for us to be picked 4th or 5th in pre-season by media--but finish the season 1 or 2

Bol being healthy and Getting scoring from 6-5- 220 guard Jimmy Beane (cousin of Darius and nephew of coach Anthony Beane) are key. The guys doing the Midmajor poll probably never heard of either guy

Bol's an interesting case. Big part of his season will depend on health, especially after a second knee surgery last week (which i didn't even know about until now). With that it's hard to put too much stock in him from the outside looking in.

He's been AWOL from college basketball for 15 months---prognosticators have short memories--or perhaps you have a better explanation for us not even getting any votes in a frikkin Midmajor poll that includes two teams we finished above in the Valley (yes, yes rabid redbird fans you beat us twice in overtime).
