The new changes really cut at the power of the LOI and should accelerate transfers even more.

Not sure how to feel about. It’ll be interesting to see how this actually plays out.

How can anyone be against this ruling? Why should a school have any control over where a guy transfers to?

I agree.

Mids have just become a farm system for P5 and you know it---what's to keep a player from transferring 10-20 or whatever games into the season if he's not playing (in his opinion) enough or if a P5 offers him something under the table?

So the NBA may eliminate the one and done rule by 2021.What effects might the potential elimination of the one and done rule have on the transfer market and recruiting in general? Is this good or bad for the MVC and for mids in general?

This rule doesn't change any of that. It just means guys don't have to get "permission" to transfer to certain schools. When does this mid major persecution complex end?

The MVC just had a team go to the Final Four on the strength of a starting backcourt of D1 transfers. It works both ways.

How does the rule somehow make the MVC a farm system for the Power Five schools?

You made a good point. Loyola had a transfer from a power conference and he helped them advance in the NCAA tournament. However I think I would be safe in saying the cream generally rises towards the top. MM schools could sometimes still compete against the bigger schools because experience. The MM kids had been playing together for 3 or 4 years whereas the P5 school kids had only been together for a year or 2 because their top players had left for the NBA. Anyways, I see that advantage being taken away from the MM with this new rule. In fairness, it’s already trending this wayIt already but bound to get worse. Anyways, I could easily be wrong so i wont adamantly defend this position.
