Gudino was an assistant at Indiana State working for Lansing. He left IndySt to be the Associate Head Coach under Chris Jans at New Mexico State. WSU fans are excited about this hire. One of the reasons is that if he worked with Lansing, he understands defense, appreciates defense, and knows how to coach defense.
Last year WSU's defense was bad and some changes had to be made. I'm not surprised that when Marshall needed an assistant who could help with defense, he picked a guy with MVC coaching in his background.
I know a lot of posters here don't want to hear much about WSU, but when something happens at WSU that connects to the Valley and both Marshall and the fans show respect for how the game is played in the Valley, I think that's worth mentioning here.
