ISU with a 30-pt curbstomping over a team with action figures on its court.

Valpo mopping up UNLV in what just might break the 3-year MVC/MWC stalemate.

So if my math is correct, MVC is now up 5-3 and needs one of Bradley (vs New Mexico) or ISUr (vs San Diego State), both at home, to win on Saturday.

Correct.
Both games could be challenging but very much winnable.

We have five wins and yet you only thanked four teams.

I really hope both Bradley and ISU win their games. It would be a great end to a challenge against a league who thinks they're too good to play the Valley.

I'll step in for him: THANK YOU Evansville! That's a huge win especially in year 1 of the McCarty era. I really feel like that one could be the swing game for this challenge. If the MVC wins this year many will rightfully point to that game to explain why. The Aces look much improved under McCarty and that is wonderful to see! Keep it up guys!

Thanks, to Valpo, Trees, Drake, Red Birds and the Aces for hopefully helping to break the tie in the Challenge.

It can't be counted on yet. The MVC has taken 5-3 leads back in 2016 and 2017 only to see those leads evaporate on the final day. The big difference is this time we have home court unlike those years. New Mexico and San Diego State will provide very tough competition, we can be sure of that. Hopefully we can do it but the boys from north-central Illinois had better bring the noise.

North-central Illinois? Geez, why not just say "down state" like the rest of the Chicago area outlets.

Huge game on Saturday for the Redbirds against SDSU. SDSU is battle tested having beaten Xavier, and Texas Southern (the team who just beat Oregon) by 40. While getting smoked by Duke, and Iowa State. Their average margin of victory is 25.25 while their average loss is 28. We'll see which team shows up. If it's close, I like the Birds to pull it out. Say what you will about how they have played this season, they've shown they can win close games. All of their wins against D1 opponents have been by less than 10.
