Norton drilled NDSU Saturday with an 18/17/13 line leading Drake to another win. Those 17 assists registered as the NCAA’s most assists in a triple-double since 2011.

He had 1 turnover. His assist rate is top 5 in the country.

DeVries plucked him from UAB. He is absolutely in the race for the Larry Bird.

Drake is playing fun style right now. It'll be really interesting to see if they can continue that once league play starts and everything inevitably slows down.

I caught the second half of their game in Minneapolis on Saturday night and the biggest thing that stood out to me was how engaged everybody on that team was from the guys playing to the last guy on the bench. That's coaching and definitely unique to DeVries in the coaching tree that he comes from. That's him making a difference in the role of a head coach and that's really cool to see.

When Geno Ford was at Bradley he REALLY wanted him out of High School. Norton's dad being at UAB was tough to beat at that time. I've always loved his game.

I actually watched him play against Shea Feehan when he was at 8th grade at Epiphany in Bloomington (my dad was Shea's coach). That game was something else. Norton had more pieces around him so Epiphany won, but I never thought that one day I'd be watching these two play against each other in the Valley.

Double-double with 6 rebounds and a 10:0 A/TO ratio against Iowa State. Larry Bird of the Non-Con.

Norton puts on a show against 45 RPI/66 NET San Diego posting 31/7/6. The Larry Bird race between Nick Norton and Jordan Barnes will be lit.

As of right now, I will take Mr. Norton. I haven't seen anybody better.
