They must have been looking ahead to the Aces.

One striking thing about Dana Ford is his speaking skills are off the charts. Stellar communicators rarely fail at the college level.

The Bears looked like a completely different team last night. I realize the Trees were very sloppy with the ball and probably not very focused but i'm talking about the Bears approach. There was a much more patient approach on offense. Not a slow down by any means but truly looking to get players the right shots instead of the first available shot. On defense, I don't know how many turnovers were created and how many were just from sloppiness on ISU part but there were not a lot of grat possessions from the Trees. There still seems to be a weakness on interior defense as Rickman scored pretty much at will but couldn't handle DaSilva at all. The Trees seemed uninterested in getting the ball inside though.

Bears get a second consecutive road win. Starting to see some of what Ford is trying to do defensively come to fruition. Bears still getting torched from the trey line as they are giving up 40% plus shooting there, but the last two games have forced 22 and 21 turnovers and have 14 and 12 steals . At the point, Webster's length is causing some problems for smaller pgs as Barnes had 7 turnovers and Brown 5.

DaSilva having a huge impact with games of 21 pts 12 rbs, and 24pts and 14 rbs. He's not the elite rebounder that Alize was, but is pretty good there, and is more versatile and efficient offensively; currently is shooting 63% thru his first 12 games. Similar size and mobility as Alize and like him, has a non stop motor. Making a bid for the best forward in the league.

Ridder having real adjustment problems. Will need him to fight thru it as we are getting increasingly thin with the Church situation, S. Wojcik done for the year, and now Mohammed went down last night and it's not clear how bad his injury was. Could be down to 8 scholarship players and a walkon. But hey we're battling, and really everything this year is just to set the base for future.

Update: Juco recruit 6'9 Gage Primm is currently the #5 ranked juco averaging about 22 pts and 12 rbs.

Hard to say this year, but right now all wins and game by game progress are what we will hang our hats on. With Lusk there was never a clear view of where we were heading; Ford's been clear on what he wants us to look like, and we are getting occasional glimpses of what that might be. Good enough for now. It was looking pretty ugly a week ago and probably will again at times this year, but like I said, we're battling.
